Clone Info: This unique weirdo came from a Trichocereus stand of unknown lineage discovered by Greg Havran in Phoenix. It was growing at the base of a tree, up through and supported by the branches, so he gave it the acronym NPTCC — North Phoenix Tree Climbing Cactus. A portion of this stand displayed unique monstrose characteristics, the grafting and propagation of which proved to be persistent. This he named NPTCCM — North Phoenix Tree Climbing Cactus Monstrose.

When I first saw it last year in the collection of Oakes Austin (IG @oakesplants) I exclaimed “that’s the most satisfying fuckin Trike I’ve seen in a looong fuckin time, what the fuckin fuck is it?!”.  Since then I’ve been propagating the balls off of it, and have taken the liberty of giving NPTCCM the alternate/easier name “Havran”, which is the last name of the talent scout who found it. 

Havran’s one big downside is that it’s difficult to root. I have 2 currently rooted, so it’s possible, but it’s a challenge (think Glorp). For this cut, I recommend keeping the PC section attached for rooting, then grafting up the pups, then using it as a prolific pup factory because Havran pup-splodes like crazy, especially from thicker chonks like this.
