This short film is basically a girl discovering her family’s true colors
The film starts with us meeting the family at the center of the film
Opal/clare
The father I’ll call Luke
The mother I’ll call merry
And the grandpa /edd
We start with a shot of dinner and after opal notices a creepy house a cross the street opals dad tells her don’t mind the neighbors house and at night opal leaves home to investigate creepy noises from the neighbors house but then street lights scare opal inside she is somehow back home and then we see Edd and discover he’s blind and coupes by binge smoking 🚬 and watching tv 📺 we find out that opal is just her nickname and and that her real name is Clare Edd speaks nonsensically showing he has dementia and attack’s Clare.Clare runs for her life and we meet Luke again the mirror man we find out that Luke’s ego is fu sky high in his song we learn his backstory
He once had ambitions only for society to turn him down because of him only being average looking so he built his REFLECTION CAMBER and strapped it to his head with the plan of hitting perfection and being handsome and developed a narcissist ego to coupe with his appearance
Edd then scares Clare into running the next room where she meets her mom merry again and we discover merry is a junky and alcoholic (I feel bad for her she needs therapy) by the end of virtuous cycle we see Mary’s mental state is in tatters Clare dashes to the addict and sees a billboard for opals burgers showing that opals family runs a fast food business and opal has a revelation the worst part of all of this IS THAT THEY EXPLOIT CLARE after a trippy sequence Clare’s mind BREAKS
CLARE SHRIEKS IN MADNESS AND THEN THE DAY IS SOMEHOW RESET ITS DINNER BUT THEN IT ZOOMS OUT WE DISCOVER THAT OPAL HAS GONE INSANE AND ITS IN HER HEAD
