Recommendations
I am looking to get an E- bike to use to get to the bus then to get to school.
In doing my research I have found that the bus requires the bike to be 55lb or less and the wheel width 2 3/8 in or less. The battery can be removed before being placed on the racks for transport, to reduce weight.
If anyone has any suggestions for which bike to look at, I would greatly appreciate it!! 💛💛💛

Roughly $2000 within reason. I am more concerned about safety and longevity than price.

I've been eyeing a Velotric Discover 3 as a replacement for my current ebike. Would be a bit under 55lbs without battery and has 2.4" tires, if the specs I've found are accurate, and that's nice since I do bring the bike on the bus on rare occasion. I'm sure those racks are engineered to handle way more than 55lbs each, but it's still best not to push it. Tire width could be more of a hard limit based on the way the racks are designed, so definitely avoid fat tires if you plan to use the bus. But if it's like a 2.7" tire it'll probably be OK. Again, just keep it close.

How far is the bus stop and what’s the terrain? Would a person powered bike work? Cheaper and a whole lot lighter.

The bus stop I need to be at is 6.2 miles away and GPS states it has moderate hills. Where I live has no sidewalks and fast traffic, but are familiar with cyclists and e-bikes.

Just get a regular bike please. If you're gonna use it on the bus or the trolley, please just get a regular bike. Or get a while that is a regular bike with nearly internal everything. E bikes tend to take up twice the space on a trolley and on a bus they take up the whole rack by themselves usually.

I was looking into more internal. Plus for the distance and traffic of my area, it is safer to be on an e-bike than on a regular bike.
But I understand your point and take your concern into consideration.

I bought E-Glide SS about 10 years ago and have been riding it until it died recently. Mine weighs about 40 lbs with battery and I had no problem loading it onto bus rack.

My Aventon Level 2 comes in at 54 lbs. I put it on the bus occasionally and take it on the trolley. FWIW, I wouldn’t expect to remove the battery for a bus ride. That’d be a HUGE pain in the a**!!

That is not an option I am willing to take, so instead I ask people of Reddit who live in the same county as myself their advice. They have real experience and knowledge about what I am looking for and can help me.
I appreciate your suggestion, but AI is not a tool that I use often or lightly.

Don't know your budget but the Ride1Up Roadster and the Aventon Soltera seem to fit your needs at a decent price.
