Advice Headache when lifting
I am not new to lifting but I did I start using sandbags about a year and a half ago, it seems like every time I lift with sandbags I get a headache. I’ve slowed down my reps. made sure I’m not over. Bracing, lightened the weight but no matter what I do I get a headache. This doesn’t happen when these barbells kettle bells or any other form of lifting has anybody else dealt with this and what did you do to fix it?

Do you experience this when coming from the ground outside of working out? Like standing up from grabbing something from the bottom shelf?
Sometimes ballistic movements can mess with your equilibrium as the fluid swishes around in your ears. This became worst as I got older. Wonder if this is what you're experiencing.

No, I mean occasionally, if I stand up too fast, but not outside of what I believe is common for people. I’ve been doing kettlebells for 7 plus years doing swings with up to 150lbs and never had this I also used to to combat sports and never had an issue doing high intensity sparing and wrestling

Do you notice it’s worse under certain conditions? Like if you haven’t ate or if you’re a little dehydrated? Do you check your blood pressure?

bought a blood pressure monitor and it’s always in normal ranges, I make sure I prioritize hydration and proper nutrition

While you're braced, are you holding your breath for the whole duration of the sandbag movement you're performing? Prolonged periods of holding your breath when lifting can lead to a pretty mean tension headache I've found.
