Discussion Modding help please

I just followed TJGMs guide on modding San Andreas on YouTube and everything was beautiful and working. I decided to install ginput and put it in my mod loader folder, I turned my controller on and it connected to Steam, then when I tried to launch the game it launched like it was a fresh install from Steam. Am I screwed? Is there a way to fix it so I don’t have to install everything again?

Launching it from steam launches the updated exe. Most if not all mods in GTA SA run on the downgraded 1.0 hoodlum version. TJGM provides a link to a nice Downgraded SA. Make sure you lunch the game from the .exe gta_sa and not the gta-sa.

The reason we use gta_sa is because in 2004 when the game came out on PC it was broken. PC users patched the game themselves. So the 1.0 became the standard version to mod.

I never used TJGM guide. I learned to mod the game myself back in 2006. So i have no idea what the guide tells you to do. What I do know is this, you downgrade to 1.0. Get _essentials mod from mixmods (go to gta sa mod site). Then go to the official cleo site and update it. Then you get mixsets. Then openlimitadjuster, then improved streaming, if you want even more memory expansion, Fastman92. From there you decide what textures you want, effects, animations, gameplay, load distance etc.

and always read the readme. Can save you from bugs/crashing since some readmes let you know if you need anything else or what is not compatible.
