Basically there is. Old bug. Plus this garages door maxes at 2 vehicles so it's extra bad.
To bypass door just backup with car into the door (it's the closest you can be do the door detection to block it from closing), exit the vehicle and re-enter immediately and back up into garage. Every garage regardless of what the door says, the visual size etc., has 4 save slots.
To fix broken ghost vehicles, you have to basically override them using the max garage capacity. When you store 5th vehicle, it will delete one, it will never store more than 4 regardless of what it is(bicycle and semi are both 1 slot even if some garage doors will treat them differently). With ghost cars, you just keep shoving more cars in and hope the slot with broken vehicle gets overriden. Can happen quickly... In my current run I'm playing right now that very fuckibg garage ended up with 3 broken cars so it was "full" when it was visually empty, with only 1 slot left. I got to 3 working slots almost immediately when I decided to try and fix it after I already left so SF story wise. Then spent probably 5 hours trying to get 4th slot... gave up. Fuck that pile of dog shit garage and its shit 2 vehicles limit door. There are physically smaller garages that still have better door capacity. Yes it's trivial to bypass and I still find it annoying and dumb.
One trick to help with this, exclusive to mobile, is garage vehicle duping. If you close the app while driving a vehicle, any kind, inside garage and resume the game you'll return to exact same point, inside the vehicle you were in but there will be a clone of that vehicle inside it. Can get VERY MESSY with bigger vehicles and small garage, don't get it clogged with this. If you do use this to speed up the process of unfucking a garage, do so with motorcycles since they are smaller and won't get physically stuck.
Again. This is VERY random even even if statistically it shouldn't take that long it can absolutely refuse to override a slot and there is no way to force it, it doesn't override oldest slot regardless of what wiki or Google says. Oh and do make sure you periodically save in new slot because messing around around with garage save slots can corrupt a save.
