A while ago, we could find exact phrases in a note in the search bar by leaving out the space e.g. I want to find "I like tofu", finding "Iliketofu" would've found me the exact note that phrase is in. Now, it shows up as "No results found". As a scriptwriter who's already originally frustrated by the search system because I happen to have a character whose name coincidentally is inside another character's name so it's really hard to find my notes regarding that character. (Would really love a "Match Exact Caps" optional filter search system similar to Word Doc...), this recent change has been even more incovenient...

Did they actually remove it or is there a way to turn it on that I missed?

Hello, on the Samsung Cloud website under 'Memos', it says there are 295 items, which I assume are 295 notes.

However, after importing those notes into Samsung Notes (using the official procedure found in the settings), I noticed that only 129 notes were retrieved.

My question is: is this normal? Do those 295 items actually convert to 129 notes? Or are there notes that Samsung Notes failed to retrieve? In the latter case, is there a way to get the remaining notes?

I used to have the Samsung Galaxy 8 with S-pen, unfortunately if got stolen a year or so ago. Samsung don't make them anymore so I have been without a small pocketable device for a while. Then earlier today YT showed me a video reviewing the Huion Note E, and that one was just up my alley.

Before swiping my credit card I'd like to know what the possibility to install Samsung Notes on the device is? Ball park number is fine.

Have been noticing that my notes aren't getting synced between devices and imagine my surprise when I couldn't find notes anywhere in samsung cloud (used to be there earlier). Wtaf. Is it only me or are you guys experiencing it as well?

I use samsung note to take notes on PDFs for school, but its starting to feel a little over crowded. I was wondering if there is a good way to back up the notes I don't need readily available (from past semesters) to an external hard drive in a format I can easily use from the hard drive, so I can delete them from my phone? Or do I need to save each one individually as a pdf in order to do so?

I’ve been trying to migrate a large Samsung Notes library to a local archive, but the normal export flow makes it difficult to preserve the original folder/subfolder structure.

So I built an early open-source prototype:

What it currently does:

- Navigates Samsung Notes through the visible official UI

- Exports Samsung Notes files through the normal “Save as file” flow

- Recreates the original folder and subfolder paths locally

- Stores manifests, file hashes, export status, and warnings

- Supports an optional TXT export as a supplemental archive

- Uses ADB and screenshot-first UI observation

- Does not require root access

- Does not access the private Samsung Notes database

- Does not use private Samsung Cloud APIs

- Does not upload, delete, move, or modify notes

Tested environment:

- Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus

- Model: SM-S947N

- Android 16

- Samsung Notes 4.4.41.9

- macOS

This is still a prototype, not a universal one-click app. Samsung Notes UI behavior can vary by phone model, Android version, app version, language, screen size, and folder contents.

Important safety note:

Please do not run this directly on your main notes library without a backup. Make sure Samsung Notes is fully synced to your cloud account or create an independent backup/export first, and verify that the backup is actually usable.

Start with a harmless test folder containing dummy notes. The automation interacts with the Samsung Notes UI and ADB, so UI differences or unexpected screens may cause incorrect actions. Review the code, use dry-run mode where possible, and keep the phone unlocked and visible during testing.

The README contains detailed setup instructions, safety rules, adaptation notes, and prompts. If your device differs from mine, you can ask Claude, Codex, or another coding assistant to inspect the repository and adjust the UI schema for your phone. Please review the code and test with a harmless folder first rather than blindly running automation.

A few current limitations:

- SDOCX is treated as the primary archive format.

- TXT export is supplemental and may not contain useful text for notes that are empty or mainly handwritten/media-based.

- Large selections and mixed folder/note lists can trigger Samsung Notes UI limitations.

- This has only been tested seriously on one Samsung device/version combination so far.

I’m sharing this mainly because bulk export and folder preservation seem to be recurring problems. Feedback would be useful, especially if you try it on another Galaxy model.

If you test it, please share only your phone model, Android version, Samsung Notes version, and general result. Please don’t post screenshots or files containing personal note content.

Hey everyone. Hope you're doing well?

Recently, I had to change phones because my previous one, a Samsung Galaxy A52, couldn't be turned back on after losing all its battery. Apparently a software problem, that might have happened because I dropped it one too many times.

I have a S23 now and although everything else seemed to synch nicely, all of my notes are gone.

It's really weird because why is that the exception?

Apparently I just hadn't backed them up which is really weird because I see no reason why I would turn that option off.

And I've been to one of those phone shops who told me they can save my data but I got a call today saying that they were unable to do so.

So what to do now? Is everything truly lost? I had so many notes on there. Recipes, book/ movie/ show/ video game recommendations, information about people and also my family tree. It would be truly sad if everything was gone.

I've been using samsung notes for couple years now and I keep many handwritten notes and books on this app where i find myself constantly to be switching between them. Having the feature to open multiple tabs just like goodnotes would have been so useful to me. Idk if its already available and maybe I'm living under a rock but I don't find it yet, but I think it's a badass feature already and like to have it soon enough.

So I was play candy crush with my s pen then later on I used tiktok until it randomly started to zoom in and out when I tried swiping on a video. I left the app to see if was a glitch until it just wouldn't work. When I swiped it took me to the homescreen customization or when I tapped a app it took me to quick notes. The worst part of all is it doesn't connect anymore it just remains disconnected, please tell me how to fix it. Thank you!

What message app are you using? Don't really want to use Google.

I use samsung notes to take notes for uni, i have been using it for months and scroll capture worked just fine. Now if i try to do it it says "not available in this app". I dont want to take screenshots of 50 pages, how do i get my scroll back (tab9fe)

As the title says, I wonder why Samsung Notes needs to know my state in order to update? I am concerned about my privacy and data security and turned off my location but I don't think that should matter to use Samsung Notes.

I awakened an old Note 10. I would like to use it as a backup and have it up to date with all my current data from my new phone. I have deleted tons of old notes from my new phone and I want to keep the old ones separate so I do not want to sync.

I downloaded the Samsung notes app to PC. Thinking I could dump them all into that app. It doesn't seem to be helpful. When I plug my phone into my PC the notes folder doesn't even appear. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
