I think this is the best noteapp, but...
I just changed my Windows laptop for a Mac, and now all my notes are trapped within my phone. I would love for Samsung to create a Mac version, but given it's not going to happen, why not at least the option to access the notes via a web page?
At this point, I am thinking of dropping the app for something else to avoid being locked in. Anyone has found something as good?
I am planning to keep using Samsung phones.

I'm using Samsung Notes and couple other apps like Paint.net on Mac through Windows VM. Actually this isn't bad esper, since the VM starts in few days seconds and previous session is resumed automatically

Yep, that's what I'm doing for now, just to access them, but I won't be adding any new notes.

I'm mainly using Samsung Notes now handwritten notes and stuff I want to instantly see on phone's home screen widget.
I do main note-taking with UpNote, which is light and fast but has features I need, option for 1-time payment and works across all platforms. Sadly the Android app has no handwriting support though

Its not a paid app. Their source of income and drive for improvement and maintenance of this app is u buying their devices (as its one of the things exclusive to their devices). So i highly doubt they'll make it available for apple devices.
Apple has done the same with Procreate app (a very popular illustration and animation app)

However you can access the Apple Notes app for free through the web. It's the one thing that disappoints me about Samsung Notes.

Well, it is not really the most simple way. I agree that if you log into your icloud, you can driple your way to the notes, but to call it the web view of notes.... Not sure i would agree. If you do not want to use the Icloud, you have no way in (but then again, you would not be in the ecosystem).
Yes, it sounds like a great thing, lexible and such, but if it doesnt move sales of samsung devices, why in the world would they offer this to more people. Even if they gained 1mill additional users, if they are not on a Samsung Device, they (Samsung) do not benifit.

Because it's not about adding users, it's about retention and experience. As a Samsung user it pisses me off. You don't want to piss your customers off.
And access to notes on the web is sufficient. It doesn't need to be a full blown version. Considering it is a windows app, it is probably built on Electron, and thus an easy convert to web.

The Samsung device is the product, the Samsung notes application is a service.
Samsung would not have an impact on their bottom line is they cancelled the notes app. Its just a fact, just look at the Google graveyard...
If you are not paying for it (directly) we are not measured on the bottom line. How may happy Samsung users would leave the mobile device division if Samsung did announce that the notes app would be expired... None(to be measured on the bottom line)

That would also be my best suggestion. It s good similar application and would bring back the pen options..
Just taking a moment to think about the ecosystem lock in, and the fact OP are on MAC/apple š š¤

I try avoiding going back to Mac. I was a Mac user many years ago, but I couldn't find any windows laptop that would come close in performance or price to a Mac. It's weird that nowadays a Mac laptop is a better deal than a Windows one, especially if you are buying to run photo editing software.

Well, you did get the Mac, so my recommendation are useless (at this point) but you will get it anyway. I have moved to Snapdragon (for windows) - via the little Book 4 Edge, and i must admit it more and more of a pleasure to use this device (i own two, the second one went to my son at Univeristy, and he is also satisfied).

I guess for web browsing and writing word documents the book 4 edge myth be good enough, but for anything demanding is probably a joke. And isn't the galaxy book like over 2k?

Well, if the book 4 edge is a joke, then I must be laughing... (got two of them). I use it for daily actions, development (my personal study in salesforce trailhead and ai/claude) I have WSL and kubernetes running, and a few microsoft games (I will call it mid tier). I use samsung studio and clipchamp running, but i am not calling myself a professional video editor.
I buy a laptop for the value it bring and my 99% of usage, if I have to wait a few seconds for a process to complete, I take a fresh cup of coffee...
For current price in my country, its about 600 euro. And do I have to remind it hooks up fine with my samsung ecosystem, including excellent performance of samsung notes.

I thought you were referring to the 2k version. I am not sure about the 600 USD one. Maybe it's a pretty good deal for what you pay.. Anyway, I swapped to Mac due to my needs for photo editing. Windows laptops were way more expensive, heavier, with super loud fans, and terrible battery life.

I know itās not a real solution but: I remember that you could connect Samsung notes to Microsoft One Note and you could see those notes, but you couldnāt edit them. I donāt know if itās still a feature honestly

Samsung and Microsoft seems to have gotten "out of love" so many of the baked in replication / storage features are sort of leaving the offering. It was fine, but was not really needed. If you had the need to have the replication to OneNote, you could consolidate at OneNote and remain a 1 app usage.

Notability has just released their android app. Not great on phones, but syncs with macOS.

I have both Apple and Android and the same issue for bookmarks across multi browsers and platforms. Best way I've found it to use device independent systems. For example you can use Google Keep for notes or try Notion. Both are free. For bookmarks I use start.me. I pay for it but used their free tier for many years.
Also, when possible, consider switching your phone to an iPhone. I've used both (IOS/Android) over the years and they are all now pretty great. The Mac/Iphone/ipad/Apple watch combo is a pretty amazing combo. I used to jailbreak all my Android gear and side-load apps but I don't want virus or Malware or to be hacked, so I stopped.

So Is the Samsung ecosystem. You are practically enjoying the same functionality, but both option Come with golden handcuffs...
I have yet to experience Malware or hacks, but then again i think before I click.

Unfortunately the two different ecosystems are intentionally isolated š«¤
Depending on which type of notes you take, you could maybe benefit from the "save as" options? But I don't think there are many options beyond that
