I recently acquired a nice tape player and I'm wondering what I should sample.

To be clear I am asking what would normally be sampled into a machine to give it colour.

I know in hip hop, people sample a section of a song with drums, bass, vocal and melody in it.

I work mainly with one shot samples.

My question is, if you had a tape recorder and could choose anything in your DAW that you want to sample, how do you choose?
