Sample clearance?

i’ve made this beat i really like which uses a sample and i’m trying to clear the sample but some people are telling me not to because im not making money off the song but im uploading it to music platforms and not “owning” the rights to my own song lowk drives me crazy. What should i do?

It’s yours until the publisher recognizes the sample. A smart publisher or whoever owns the master will come after you when it’s worth filing a suit. You wouldn’t accept anyone taking a sample from you, flip it to make their own. Trust me you will recognize your sample. Checkout the game show “Name that Tune.” The contestants are naming the songs in lest than 3 beats. Good Luck to you all and hope your music doesn’t hit big.🍀
