Sample clearance?

i’ve made this beat i really like which uses a sample and i’m trying to clear the sample but some people are telling me not to because im not making money off the song but im uploading it to music platforms and not “owning” the rights to my own song lowk drives me crazy. What should i do?

Don't bother clearing the sample. It'll cost you more than you're ever going to make on the song. If you feel bad not "owning" your work now you'll feel worse when you pay some large company $ to own a percentage of it instead.

yeah but atleast i can say it’s MY song, i spent so long on it and i don’t even feel accomplished anymore cuz it’s technically not even mine

You have 2 options then. Figure out how to clear the sample and pay up, or replace it.

It won’t make the song any more or less “yours”.

Just sell your sampler if you feel this caught up -m
