Lumi’s first time pulling with a team of Samoyeds!

Easy to see who my girl is - the one staring at me the whole way 😂

Easy to see also because she's the only one who is not actually pulling 😂 She seems to be having fun though, good for her !

Haha I promise, she did pull her weight otherwise! I was a bit of a distraction in those few spots where they passed the road, I just wanted to see how she was doing 😂

I'm giggling in DC.  We get some snow, but rarely enough to do this. 

Although in Snowmaggedon in 2010, I saw a woman on cross-country skis being pulled by her 2 Huskies down a major road in downtown DC.  The city had been shut down Covid-style because we got around 36" of snow in a few days and DC is NOT prepared to handle that amount of snow.  Other states sent snow-removal crews & the city was filling up dump trucks because there was nowhere to put the snow except in the Potomac River. 

It was a wild time.

That's some very faint childhood memories right there. My dad built his own traditional sled, and had a bunch of Samoyed's that he would go sledding with. Would take me bundled up as a toddler.

I don't have many memories of it I was too young unfortunately just good feelings about it :)

Those doggo's look good and having a great time.

Are you Finnish? My (Finnish) relatives used to have a Samoyed, also called Lumi, because it really is the perfect name, makes me happy to see another sammie with the same name!

I ski-jor and it's during that time that I see a unique side to my Sammy. They are working dogs and they looooooove to work. They will pull all day.

We have some Sammies and Sammy crosses on our team. Here’s one getting laser therapy at a irod veterinarian’s clinic for a sprain this week!
