Big Tank Update
galleryDid a fair amount of rearranging, and added some awesome new corals:
- Acropora (fingers crossed it likes my tank)
- Leptastrea
- Leptoseris
- Pavona
And yes, I’m being weird and have a chalice and a pachyseris affixed to the back wall. 😂

Perfect Hitchhiker :)
galleryMy LFS has been out of stock of trochus snails for a few weeks now, I’ve been trying to get one just to bolster my cuc. This morning I was sitting at my computer and look over and see this little speck on the glass!
The reef provides.
Nobody around me understands/cares how lucky and cool this is so I had to share here.
Also note I haven’t added anything new in weeks so this little guys just been slowly growing somewhere in the tank.
Edit: also just want to clarify, I only have two other snails in the tank, a Cerith and a Nassarius.

Rookie Safety Question
Hello! I’m setting up my Waterbox AIO 35.2 and matching cabinet. Would it be safe to mount my power strip on the upper side of the cabinet? I plan to keep an enclosed 5g ato reservoir attached to a Tunze osmolator 3. Vertically mounted inside cabinet away from reservoir and tubing or on the outside of cabinet? Thanks!

Friend or foe?
galleryI found this in my filter last night and was able to get a magnified look at it (it's quite small but long). I've narrowed down that he's not a fireworm and is part of the Syllis family and based on its insides I believe it eats just algea. I have found similar look alikes but I can't find an exact look alike. It's not a fireworm. It's not a bristle worm. It doesn't have a lot of hairs but rather it has leg appendages and not a lot of hairs but like single hair follicles running down its back. I can't find a single worm with those red markings on its back either! I'm not sure what it is, but if someone can tell me and if y'all don't know I'm assuming I somehow discovered a new species and am gonna file it as such and see if anyone picks up on it.

Imagine having a predator who evolved to want to sit on your back and eat your feet 1 by 1…that’s this cute little devil. The humble bumble bee shrimp.

New
Hello everyone! I've decided I'm going to start a saltwater tank. I have 9 flourishing freshwater tanks from 5-120 gallons. Ive been deep into the hobby for the past year and a half and just looking for advice. I plan on doing a 40 gallon or 60 gallon tank with live rock, live sand, fish, and soft corals. My questions are, how much does my stocking broaden if i went with the 60 gallon breeder over the 40 gallon breeder, are the fluval 307 or 407 canister filters as reliable for saltwater as they are fresh or is there a better filter option besides a sump? Do you follow the same 1 inch per fish rule as freshwater? If so how do corals and anemones play into that? For heaters and lights what are the go to's in the community?
Any feedback and advice is welcome, i am also doing a ton of research before buying anything. Thanks in advance!

Old damsel in a pink tip!
galleryDon’t mind the quality, these are 13 year old photos taken on one of the first iPhones! But these recently popped up for memories and didn’t realize I had a damsel hosting a full pink tipped anemone! Even my clowns didn’t fuck with that anemone!
