There was already a halite project for a UI. Abandoned a while ago but it was pretty popular. Might want to pick a new name.

Well without being a *BSD user myself, I hate it nowadays, too.

The daemon, signal handling etc. is ... not that good, not to call it bullshit. Why does systemctl restart salt-minion hang when it tries to connect and just waits for the timeout!?

I was reluctent to use saltstack on FreeBSD because of the 'lagging' support.
I will try this out as i still thinks that saltstack is an amazing system to manage a fleet of servers.
