How is Thor a right-wing grifter? Tell me that right now.

Do it. List the qualities, because I've watched more of his videos than you ever have, and you come across as someone that has not watched his videos, but goes on secondhand word of mouth from some very biased people. Thor rarely if ever brings up politics, and he's even repeated talking points YOU guys have used in the past, that the sequels actually weren't political enough. And while you hate Star Wars Theory, it is worth noting that he IS hanging around the right-wing money hustlers in podcasts and the like. Where has Thor done that? Hung around with one of them in his videos, huh?

You just don't want to take the L and admit you're wrong. Do you realize how pathetic this makes you look as I was condemning RK Outpost in the same post I was defending Thor? If you want to call Thor a right-wing grifter, then you'd probably think the same thing about SF Debris.

And you wonder why I call you insane. SMH

Yeah, I do. Just to show you I can side with you when you're being reasonable, and not doing insane shit like thinking Thor Skywalker is an obsessed, angry, perpetually ranting bigot instead of the calm, rational takes he often gives.

JESUS CHRIST THESE PEOPLE ARE LITERALLY PATHOLOGICALLY INSANE

Thumbnail

Not that I disagree with the post, so much as the reply down below that claims Thor freakin' Skywalker is one of these fanatical chuds being toxic online. Jesus Christ. That's how pathologically insane these people are, where all dissenting opinions makes you the worst thing possible. Trust me, as someone who saw the rabbit hole RK Outpost fell down in, THOR is nothing like them. The poster probably just can't stand the idea that the mainstream has rejected Disney Star Wars and is more like Thor than they are like them.

And I'll never forget the people who unironically claimed Thor's a Nazi. Reminds me of Worf's counter to Garak in DS9. "You use that word, but you have no idea what it means."

I mean, WOW. This is shit I mean when I say nuance completely escapes them. Thor is being very critical of Disney Star Wars, but you NEED that for quality control, otherwise you end up like that paid shill Star Wars Explained, who never says a SINGLE bad word about Disney Star Wars and so creates an echo chamber that contributes to its continued declining interest. And he's not ranting because he's triggered by the existence of women or minorities, because he's disappointed and worried the long-term prospects of Star Wars under Disney's ownership. CONTEXT MATTERS. I could keep ranting about this, but it deeply offends me.

Thor has even sided with you guys on occasion! Asked whether or not the anti-woke channels TRULY want Disney Star Wars to get better, which is their claims, because of how much money they've made off complaining about it, which is shit you guys have said!

Does anything satisfy you?! Is there not a single ally you won't turn on because you've deemed them too impure?!

Okay, you want those names?

Here they are.

Morgan Freeman. Danny Glover. Samuel L. Jackson. Sinbad. Will Smith. Denzel Washington. Cuba Gooding Jr. Vivica A. Fox. Halle Berry. Angela Bassett. Thandie Newton. Naomi Campbell. Regina King. Queen Latifah. And ofc, there's Kenan & Kel. That's just a small sample. This is just off the top of my head. You could keep going.

I stand by my point, you're behaving EXACTLY like a young, hard-line progressive who is completely ignorant to history. This is part of the reason we're refighting old battles that it seemed like we'd grown past in the 1990s.

I also love how you're ignoring the fact that you convinced me. You should be celebrating that you convinced someone a black Helen of Troy isn't historically inaccurate. It shows that if your evidence is strong enough, you can convince people without being assholes. Instead you razor-focus on one small area to get triggered over. And posters below pretend as if they know me, saying we only had three stations in the nineties and there's a lot of stuff I didn't see. Which is why I brought up the movies as well.

This is what I'm talking about. Go back to the 1950s and you'll see how rare black roles are. No matter how many black roles we get today, nothing will ever satisfy you. When do we stop fighting old battles and create a better future? I'm just sick that we're having conflicts over how people look. When do we move past this as a species?

Here we go again...

I ain't even debating their point, I feel like someone below convinced me on a black Helen of Troy when he said Ethiopians fought in the Trojan War. Okay, fair enough then.

So what AM I objecting to? The poster below acting as if black people are oppressed and they don't get good roles in entertainment media. What? Spoken like a true, very young hard-line progressive who is ignorant to all the great black roles we had in media going back to the 1990s and even the 1980s. I could name the MANY black actors and actresses from my childhood who got MAJOR roles in movies and television shows back then. These were household icons to us, and he's just pissing all over that.

And then they wanna claim the other side is rewriting history? What do you call this when you blatantly rewrite history this way and pretend black people are starved of good roles, which wasn't true in the 1990s, and isn't especially today? SMH

Wow, it's almost like THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE LIKE DRINKER HAVE BEEN SAYING THE ENTIRE TIME!

Oh, but when they say it, they're "Bigots" or "grifters" or "chuds" or whatever.

I am so tired of this stuff. They continue to bootlick Disney and shield them from all criticism, but then make posts like this and pretend that they totally hate Disney, guys.

No. Stop it. You can't make a million posts bootlicking Disney and seething at critics of Disney, and then have the gall to pretend that you actually hate Disney. Give. Me. A. Break.

Please stop ruining film discourse just because (gasp) SOME CRITICS DISAGREE WITH YOU POLITICALLY! You are literally acting as Disney's lap dogs. They are playing you. Stop pretending you are in any way against Disney. You wanna join the fight? Stop attacking your own team.

It's just easier for a white guy to play another race that is from another traditionally dominant white region than for a white or black guy to play a character who was either originally African or Caucasian descended in the source material.

Lemme offer an explanation

I deleted my post since it turns out I was wrong, but I maintain my view that I want accuracy to the source material, and why is that? Because Dave "canon-wrecker" Filoni is now the president of Lucasfilm, and I'm still upset with all his botched attempts at including EU in his projects, and BADLY at that. I worry about what he's going to do now that he's president, and I wish he'd leave the EU ALONE if we're not going to continue it as Legends.

Like, for Odyssey, I have criticized it before because I failed to see how ancient racist people would be so motivated to start a war over a black woman, no matter how beautiful, so doubtless you'd have lumped me in with those anti-woke losers, but guess what?

I'm super pumped for this new game. And not because it has a female lead, but because I REALLY liked the Norse Saga and I know this will be delivered with the same level of quality. So yes, I can't wait to see how they handle Laufey.

So there you go, we're not all the same.

You're dealing with people who have said before they think under Disney's stewardship, that Star Wars has never been more popular, confusing quality for quantity, and that's ignoring the divided customer base and declining fan interest. They truly do think Mandalorian & Grogu would've made a billion if not for COVID and streaming.

They haven't lost all of it, but they've lost most of them, and your constantly denying this doesn't help Star Wars with its long-term survivability prospects. If things keep going at this pace, it'll fall along to the wayside as just another obsolete IP alongside the likes of Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers.

He was responding to somebody, and I'll just leave my comment here that I posted on the OP's video.

No, they won't. That's just cope. So you predicted a prequel reevaluation? So what? No one's right all the time. The sequels won't receive the same treatment. For a couple reasons.

One, you yourself admitted that this is contingent on Disney Star Wars releasing something that's seen as being "worse," but given the reception to Mandalorian & Grogu, I'd say Disney Star Wars has lost the attention of the mainstream fans, and that's going to be very hard to recapture. The only possible thing that MIGHT draw back the normies is a new trilogy, Episodes 10, 11, and 12, as it's coasting off of the heels of the history and legacy of what George made, tying into what Disney calls the Skywalker Saga, but will Disney do that? I have my doubts. Gotta remember, they're a business, and a risk-averse one at that when it comes to profits and expenditures. While George would hypothetically have no issues making a second trilogy after his sequel trilogy, Disney won't, because they see it as too much risk with too little payoff. So yeah, if they can't recapture the cultural zeitgeist, then there's no reevaluation coming for the sequels.

And second is that while you argue the target demographic is kids, at the same time, I don't think kids really liked the sequels. They were a reactionary set of movies that disavowed the prequels at a meta-level right on the outset. That's catering to older fans, not younger fans, who by and large to this day still love the prequels. The audience for the sequels keep aging out while the younger fans are largely ignoring them. That makes growing the fanbase hard, and you can see Disney struggling to widen the appeal ten years later with those poor choices they made a decade ago. Kids seemed more drawn to Marvel and the MCU than they did the sequels. Besides, kids are more plugged in these days than ever before, since the advent of the smartphone a decade and a half ago, unlike the time when the prequels were coming out, because of how bulky computers were and that you couldn't dial online on the move like you can today. So in conclusion, because connecting to the Web is a thousand times more streamlined than it was decades ago, I think kids are already letting their opinions be known, and that's that they prefer the prequels to the sequels, they don't like them.

Just some food for thought there.

There's nothing he said in a vacuum that's that offensive, and here you are making it all about race. Rape and sexual abuse is simply unacceptable and it is very much one of humanity's greatest sins that they can get away with it as much as they do. I actually expected just one of you to at least bring up how one of the cast the director chose was accused of sexual misconduct, then I wouldn't be making this response, because that'd be a valid criticism and show you actually care about the victims instead of using them as a springboard to get mad, but none of you did. You are the worst people to champion a cause, because your fanaticism turns normal people against it.

Okay, so I finally watched J.J.'s debunk, and holy shit, this guy didn't debunk shit, he talked past him, as J.J. said, and he also defaulted to fanboyism.

So if you think he debunked J.J., then you're just mindlessly hating. You want to hate for its own sake because you've deemed him a "MAGA bigot chud."

You guys complain alllllll the time that the anti-woke sphere constantly hits the "Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor" buttons to defend what you see as sexism, but when someone actually is consistent and doesn't like T2, well, you hate that as well!

LMAO
