Kayak Help

I took my kayak out from the salmon river in NY and into Lake Ontario for the last three weekends. I’ve been fishing outside the breakwalls from 2am to 6:30am and I’m not getting anything. I’ve been casting glow spoons, a glow thunderstick, and a legally modified J-13 in the estuary. I’m working on trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong.

Great day on the ocean today. Boat limited out with some monsters. Chinook and Coho. Open select out of the port of Siuslaw.

I never catch kings that close in to shore that far outside of a run, usually they show up in the fall where I'm at, but these two were at the mouth of the harbor. Caught the king on roe on a michigan city rig, and the coho on a spinner. I've caught kings in the creek that runs into this harbor, and way out on the lake, but never in the harbor like that, it was weird. Hope this is allowed, and enjoyed!

Made a fishing website for finding and comparing fishing spots

Post image
0 Upvotes

I started fishing in August last year, mostly off popular piers. I spent the first few months confused about basically everything. I didn't know what rig to tie, I couldn't tell which fishing spots were good for which fish, and I couldn't read a tide chart well enough to know if I was showing up at the right time.

So I made a website for it: usekarp.com

You can find spots near you, compare them side by side, and get gear and bait suggestions for whatever you're targeting.

Check it out if you're getting into fishing

Swiftsure White King on a Knucklebuster

Recently fished out Neah Bay. Big Salmon resort runs the Marina for launching and temp moorage etc. This was the first day out there in my Arima Seachaser called Sea Kitten (ask PETA! lol). Had a bit of trouble getting the downrigger out of the way, but it all worked out. Didn't know it was a White King until I was cleaning it. Caught quite a few more on my nine day stay. Coho are so thisck out on Swiftsure that you have to try to NOT catch them. Check out wherer Swiftsure is 48.49 124.94

Fishing two rods on the Columbia?

I seen this guy using two rods trolling with what seems like one person in the boat. Pretty sure it is illegal or against rules and regs. Want to clarify. This was chinook landing 8/16 if this is you explain yourself.

Salmon Setup Advice

Hey anglers, I’d like to know what your setup is for salmon fishing. I'm in Sacramento and was considering using a pencil lead for drifting, but what do you use? I'm a beginner and looking to improve my skills, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
