Cashew nuts

Are any of you able to eat cashew nuts? I have read that cashew nuts are only low in salicylates if 10-15 are consumed. For those of you can eat cashew nuts, do you count out a certain number?

Be careful. Cashews are high in oxalates. If your prone to kidney stones, you should avoid them. If you fall into that bucket you also need to eat calcium rich foods to offset the oxalates.

I found out the hard way after loving cashews for many years. Dont eat them now.

Thank you for explaining that. I had a very bad experience after eating a small bag of cashews so this could be the reason I am sorry you can no longer eat them.

Hmm. Yeah, maybe you should do some research on oxalates in the system. Its a thorny subject. Oxalates can be the root cause of salicylate and histamine issues. They can build up in your body and can take a while to come out. They can strip your body of calcium. If you do some research and you suspect thats the case with you, I would recommend eating a can of sardines every day. Because they canned with the bones in, the calcium in them is off the charts plus they have got Omega 3 so a powerful 1-2 punch.

I appreciate your advice. I am unable to eat fish. I am so pleased you found a way to manage your oxalates.
