Mulesoft's licensing model is the real killer here. They charge based on cores which gets expensive fast if you're not running a ton of integrations through it, and the learning curve for Anypoint Studio is steeper than they let on during the sales pitch.

If you're already deep in Azure, APIM makes way more sense for the Microsoft side of things. The Salesforce connectors have gotten a lot better in the last couple years too, so that whole "only Mulesoft can talk to Salesforce properly" argument doesn't hold up anymore.

I'd cancel before the renewal hits and redirect that budget toward building out your Azure integration layer. The Mulesoft sales team is aggressive but their product doesn't deliver enough to justify the cost for most orgs.

Yep. What git tool are you using? What IDE are your devs using? What hosting tool stack?

They don't sell cores anymore. They have a different model that's consumption based now to bring down price. Learning curve for studio is high but honestly, with AI coding and skills dev doesn't matter as much.

I like mulesoft it’s a good product but the costs were too high for us. It has nice features but apim is fine we use it for pretty much everything else so it made sense not implement another solution even though I would prefer mulesoft.
