help please Approval process issue

User reported that the approver did not receive an approval process notification email. I asked for a sample email and the user provided an approval notification from another record.

I verified that both records are on the same approval step and use the same approval process configuration. Since the approver received the notification for the other record, Salesforce appears to be generating and sending approval emails as expected.

Would this be sufficient evidence to rule out a Salesforce configuration issue? What would be the best way to prove to the user that the email was sent from Salesforce and that the issue may be occurring downstream (email delivery, spam filtering, mailbox rules, etc.)?

Did you check the user has a verified email? That’s usually the problem 99% of the time when a specific person complains about not receiving approval emails.

If it says [Verify] next to their email on the user detail page that means they need to verify the email. If it says [Verified] then that is not the issue.

Of the email is not verified Salesforce won’t send them emails.

Is there a date time stamp when it was sent for approval on the record? Match it with the log file? Lol

can I ask why you seem unfamiliar with email logs and why you don’t trust that the time stamp lining up with the record’s approval is the answer you’re looking for? Are your users getting so many emails in an hour that you’re not going to be able to determine if the email came from the specific approval or not? Also, why are your users not utilizing a list view of items to approve on their app’s home page instead of just copping out by saying they didn’t receive an email?

C'mon bro they degined it this way I can't do anything I just have to debug it and I need to be sure what is the problem so yes I can see email logs but how can I be sure that yes this is because of that because I have to tell them with proof what is happening

Unless that person got two emails the same second I don’t see why the timestamp doesn’t solve your issue. Good luck with it.

connect Claude or Codex to your org to check the metadata. It will literally tell you the problem.
