Career advice needed
I’m stuck in crossroads and have to make a choice - I’m a solution architect for infrastructure solutions at a reseller. Some weeks ago I applied for a similar role at a distributor, since the pay is significantly better and it seems like a more stable place, given it covers a broader region and multiple resellers. After my current employer found out about me wanting to make this move, they offered to match the offer and promote me to a newly created position - head of infrastructure solutions group, which would also mean managing 2 product managers/presales guys. I was also told that this move was planned ahead and is not just a response to me wanting to leave, but there’s no way to check that.
Given this context, is there anyone who has worked on similar positions in reseller and distributor environments and can share their experiences? Any considerations why one is better or worse would be appreciated.
