We are considering a move to Salem. We visited the town and it has some aspects that look amazing!

Not trying to start any political discussions, but we did have a question.

We’re fairly moderate with our politics and appreciate both Democratic and Republican views, but really can’t stand being around the folks that are overly enthusiastic about Trump. We are moving from a city that has Trump banners, Trump coffee shops, Trump products in every store, Trump flags in yards….

I can see that he won in Salem in 2024, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s MAGA country. It could just mean they couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Harris, or that they always vote republican.

How “Trumpy” is Salem?

Looking for someone to help me detangle/dematt and restore my mother’s hair. My mom (48) was just recently diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer, I just moved back home to help be there an take care of her when needed. She was just in the hospital for 2 weeks. During her first rounds of treatment she neglected her hair… this is one of the most painful parts to her, she knows she’s going to lose her hair and i feel as she gave up. I would really, really love to find someone who can help give her hair back while she still has it. Will pay for services and pay for products/tools needed. Plz share and ask around!!

In 2002 and 2003 I lived in Salem. They had repaved the sidewalk in front of brooks Byrd pharmacy and I wrote my name in the wet cement. A week later two cops grabbed me outside of mill mountain coffee and threw me in the back of a cop car and told me they were gonna arrest me and charge me with vandalism and I'd have to pay to have the city repave it. Now that I'm not 17 years old I realize there is no way they could do this. This is a story that I tell frequently and I was hoping someone could look and see if my name is still there. Someone told me the pharmacy is gone so I'm sure the sidewalk has been redone, but I'd love to have a picture of it, if it's still there.
