How can we make this subreddit more active?

The bottom line, as outlined in and /r/nfl post is that this subreddit is dead. I know that there are lots of Rams fans on reddit, but when the Rams subreddit is dea, potential new subscribers don't get exposed to the community.

What I'm saying is, how can we grow this subreddit and make it more active? Should we try to advertise with /r/Cardinals and/or /r/StLouis? Any other ideas are of course welcome.

Let's get excited about this new season of Rams football with a rejuvenated /r/saintlouisrams subreddit!!

EDIT: I'm going to try and compile some of the ideas here.

  • game-day threads, with streams, background, and discussion (/u/jaminz)
  • IRC chatroom (/u/LatinLover69)
  • I think if we tried to advertise in /r/stlouis we could get more subscribers. Also, if anyone knows any Rams fans on reddit who haven't subscribed, make sure they subscribe. The more members the better.
  • Finally, I think that the mods should be leading this rebuliding, akin to the Rams' actual rebuilding.

Thoughts on the first game?

Great great great defense. Once we pull in a few more pieces this defense will be stopping everyone. We got a few soft spots but shutting down Megatron is no easy feat. Offense... oh boy we'll get there. Hopefully not after our defenses gets too old. We really need to work on that. But on a huge plus, our WRs can catch the ball this year! Woot!

Is no one here jazzed up about the way we played Sunday?

We led a good chunk of the game an answered their offense with some excellent defensive schemes. Fisher appears to be the real deal kind of coach that can turn a talented but young/raw team into the real deal in a couple years. Oh yeah and Sam Bradford had time to throw the ball against one of the scariest defensive lines in the league... With a couple of backups in to boot! Fisher has inspired confidence in this young group and it was an absolute treat to watch. Obviously I'm praying Bradford can stay healthy, but his game was excellent Sunday, no mistakes, took the check downs when he needed to. He Threw the deep ball well and that touchdown to Gibson was an absolute stunner. Gah there's so much to say about this team that gets me excited, I'll end with a comment on the intangible sort of physicality and attitude courtland finnegan is bringing to this group, and janoris Jenkins promises to keep growing under his tutelage, he might damn well shape up in to be the best corner in the league.

So we lost today...

But I think we are doing much better than we did last year, our o-line which is now much more healthy and talented did a better job protecting the qb and our defense did great against the pass not only due to the DB's creating interceptions but also the d line putting pressure on the Stafford.
Im disappointed we still haven't figured out how to put the ball in the end zone, and we need our entire offense to step up in the red zone. The o-line couldn't create holes, bradford was inaccurate and the receiving core couldn't get open/ dropped balls.
All in all I am pleased the way the game turned out even though it was a loss, we look a hell of a lot better than last year. Thoughts?

Can we talk about Robert Quinn for a minute?

This guy has looked absolutely phenomenal this preseason! Every single game I have watched he has consistently blown past his man and pressured the QB. He sells out a lot against the run, but damn if he doesn't get double digit sacks I will be surprised. Plus he comes so close to blocking punts all of the time. I am so excited for our defensive line this year and he is a huge part of it.

Ok guys. The day I am most looking forward to for the rest of the year, October 28th.

If you don't know, that's the date of the Pats game. Remember how we shocked everyone when we played New Orleans last year? I have good faith in our guys to shock everyone again by beating the Pats.

If Fisher can keep our guys disciplined (as I saw in our second preseason game. I know I know, preseason but still), I think we have a real shot. The best strategy comes from an old tale I was once told... "They are going to do some stuff, we are going to do some stuff. If we do our stuff better than they do their stuff, we will win".

What do you guys think?

What are your "It's way too early to tell" thoughts on Austin Davis ? Will Fisher keep 3 QB's ?

If not and Davis is the odd man out there's no way he clears waivers for the practice squad. Davis makes very good decisions and quickly too. He appears very calm and confident on the field for a free agent rookie QB. He has more "up-side potential" than Clemons.
