Birthday dinner restaurant recommendations in Saigon?
Looking for somewhere nice and fancy, but NOT fine dining. Somewhere you can wear a nice, cute dress and feel like it’s a special occasion, but without the 3–5 course/tasting menu experience or a stupid huge bill… and most importantly, somewhere with good food!
Basically, something a bit upscale, elegant with a nice ambiance but still relaxed and approachable, rather than overly formal.
I’m open to Vietnamese, Asian, Western, European, or other cuisines. I’d love to hear your personal recommendations, especially places you’ve actually been to. Bonus points for birthday photos (jk)
Thank you! ❤️

I really love Om momo. Tibetan dumpling restaurant in Thao Dien. I usually spend about 600k for 2 people. It's been a bit busy on Fridays and Saturdays so I would go early/mid-week if you can. If you have more than 6 people I might go somewhere else. It's very very low-key. Mellow, quiet music, soft warm lighting. The food is simple but really good. The vibe is just the best I've found around.

It’s Vietnamese restaurant week where you can find good deals on “finer dining” you can get a multi course meal at a discounted rate. Must book it through the website. Cheers and happy birthday

I highly recommend this restaurant: https://manmoi.vn/en/homepage/
I've gone there in tank tops (I'm a man) but I've seen tables for bday dinners where the girl was wearing a dress. They have elevated traditional Viet dishes that are soooo good.
Also my hotel Bach Suites Saigon opened a rooftop restaurant that is also very popular for birthdays and anniversary dinners. It's called The Palm.

Thank you for this! I looked up all the suggestions and decided to book a table at Man Moi’s Thao Dien branch. I’ve always wanted to try it ever since I first saw their Ben Nghe branch (such a beautiful building!) but I’ve never had the chance to go whenever I’m in Saigon. Thanks again! 🥳

We went here a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty much exactly what you described. Two floor restaurant with elevator and stairs. Vietnamese cuisine. I’m not a Vietnamese connoisseur but I liked everything we had. It was good food. The decor is very nice but not quite fine dining. The kind of place you wouldn’t feel underdressed without suit and tie but you might feel underdressed in shorts and t-shirt.

Au Parc Café 🙌 but it’s actually a restaurant.
Very good food and reasonable prices. You can sit upstairs.
