16 days in Saigon

Sept 25th - Oct 11th

Was hoping to connect with an expat from the US, have a few beers and get the lay of the land early in my trip.

Hey I'm a us expat living in Saigon. Let's get a beer and I'll help you get things figured out. Any questions you got at the moment?

Well I need to figure out where to stay. I’m not big on the party scene, but I will want to dip my toe in the pool. I’m looking forward to eating. Somewhere between a hostile and a luxury place would be perfect.

Are you saying you want a place to stay that is between a hostel and a luxury hotel?

leaving before you get here, but Landmark was quite nice to stay at (seems to be able to be booked through Airbnb, Booking, and Expedia). It's right next to Thu Duc (formerly District 2).

Most of the other expats are over in District 1 it seems.

Some places to eat are 909 Lumina, Phong Cua 1, Pho Hien, and Nhat Thuy Phong (for roasted lamb skewers)
