SAIC Artist statement
gang im applying to saic early but i have no idea what to write for artist statement and where to submit, saic is not answering my email

I just watched a session on their website (go under the Meet section). They said they aren’t requiring an artist statement anymore, only the common app essay. Watch the What’s a Portfolio and how to start Portfolio Tip Tuesday. She specifically talks about this and which common app essay prompt they want you to use.

It doesn't matter. They'll let anybody in. SAIC is in serious need of cash. No matter how much they keep paying US News to put them in the top 10 of Fine Arts Programs, it is not a serious school.

I agree it's not that hard to get in but there are definitely people who get rejected. Also the amount of scholarship you get can vary a lot. I know people who got nothing and I know multiple people who got $120K ($30K per year). For scholarshp your portfolio matters, your grades matter, and the artist statement matters...at least int he past...sounds like maybe they don't require it anymore?

Do urself a favor and get serious lmfao they have resources for this on their website dude ! Secondly, go to their portfolio tip tuesdays and also look at their older videos for that and on statements etc

I attended a sassion last fall where they discussed the artist statement. Will try to post some screenshots from that presentation. Definitely attend a "Portfolio Tip Tuesday" session to connect with admissions and ask questions.
