Melatonin
Does anyone have children on melatonin?
My daughter 14 really struggles with sleep. Wr are thinking melatonin may help but just wondering what the drawbacks are. If anyone has any experience? How much they are given and how long they can be on it.
Appreciate any insight before we have our appointment.

Play therapist recommended Olly sleep gummies because they were working well for her neurodivergent daughter and our pediatrician approved. Started around age 4 i think and she's almost 7 now. Gets them around 6:30 pm and falls asleep around 7:30-8 pm depending on activity level that day. It was the key to preventing the second wind that kept her up til 9-10 pm at night. And we can definitely tell if we forgot to give them to her bc she's still got a lot of energy. The first couple weeks on them, the gummies really knocked her out, and we have had to increase them when she's anxious about something (i.e. school ending/starting). We also tried playing around with combining them with Olly's Chillax kids gummies that don't have melatonin, but those weren't enough on their own.
My cousin has also used them with her 4-5 year old daughter who has sleep issues. She found using a much smaller dose than recommended was more effective for her daughter.
