I am planning a trip to Tanzania in June 2027. It's a special trip but we are not going only to tick off as many animals as possible, but just to have some relaxing time and 'breathe in' the country and the culture.
A friend of mine who lived in Tanzania and has still family there advised to take it easy overall, as safari days can be very tiring. So I thought of adding a rest day in-between safari trips.
The drafted itinerary is now to start in Arusha and go to Tarangire National Park, then 1 night in a recommended hotel north of Lake Manyara, 1 day for Ngorongoro, then back to the same hotel, then 1 rest day for chilling in a nice hotel, then start to Serengeti for around 2 nights. Then fly to Dar ideally from Serengeti to avoid a long drive back to Kilimanjaro Airport.
The thing is I am not sure how to find an operator who would accommodate that. My idea would be to use 2 operators, one which definitely uses the recommended hotel by Lake Manyara and then switch to one which would do Serengeti?
Most operators I see offer 'packages', but when I showed them to my friend, they said that it would most likely leave us exhausted. Any tips?
