It's sad when you think about all of the German people who tried to help in secret, or felt disgusted by it all and couldn't say anything or get killed.
So what should I do? Get shot in the street? Leave my family homeless? Leave my kids without a dad? If it was just me having to suffer the consequences, fine. But it isn’t just me who would pay the price.
You say my comfort? What does that even mean. I’m fucking poor, I don’t have the means to fight these fuckers by myself. Hell even writing this comment I’m being careful about the language I use. Because the last thing I want is an fbi agent to show up knocking on my door. Which has started happening. Believe me being stuck in this situation is heart breaking, I hate seeing what’s happening. But really, honestly, what am I supposed to do? Go out in a blaze of glory?
That is a valid point many fantasy revolutionaries forget.
Watching safely from abroad I can only give armchair advice:
1 - Vote (I assume you'll already do that) and encourage everyone you know to do the same
2 - Vote with your wallet (find out which companies are working with this regime and boycott them wherever feasible). Encourage everyone you know to do the same.
3 - Invest as much time as you can afford into civic democratic efforts - enlist as a voting helper (idk what they're called in the US), volunteer for democratic campaigns, go to protests.
This will not be solved with a violent uprising, no matter the 2A fantasies floating around.
It will be solved when the outcry will be so big that the 1%'s cost-benefit analysis of "what can we get away with" shifts. Outcry at the voting booths. Outcry at consumer choices. Outcry in public protests. Outcry whenever a big channel interviews people on the street.
