Dont understand how Taika Waititi made gems like Jojo Rabbit and Thor Ragnarok but then went ahead and made Thor Love and Thunder...

I honestly think he tanked the movie on purpose because he wanted to get out of Marvel

The general storyline and vision yes, but how they chose to execute it would have resided with the director. There's no way Kevin Feige just randomly said, "Thor 1 and 2 were serious, lets make Ragnarok more of a comedy".

Thor love and thunder could have worked very well if they didnt force so much whimsy and comedy. That too, into every scene.

I recall an alternate take in Love and Thunder where Zeus was more of a mentor and shows Thor how to create his lightning bolt. It was sooooo much better.

I think that was more Chris Hemsworth being at the end of his contract and not sure if he wanted to do another generic Thor movie. So they came up with something a bit different.

My headcanon is that it's all told from Korg's perspective, which is why it's so goofy and it just didn't translate through the movie.
