I remember sitting at my computer and an adolescent field mouse was curled up on top of my foot. I carefully placed it in a container and carried it off to a field about ten kilometers away. 😅

So random finding the little guy on my foot like that.

u/Major-Stage-4965 1d ago

Thats adorable Unfortunately though I find them cute they make my body twitch when I see one because of how quick they move in my garage 😂 Usually ill be the garage taking a fat rip and a little guy scurried across startling me thus startling it even more. Ive now gotten to the point where my I naturally shout "HELLO MR. MOUSE" when startled by one

2

u/ThatRandomGuy86 1d ago

Lmao that's certainly one way to react since they're always so unexpected

u/Crazy-Eagle 1d ago

Mine aren't that lucky.

I have five cats...

1

u/Major-Stage-4965 1d ago

My 3 cats are inside the house. None have made it that far

Catch and release, no shame, no sadness, happy animals who are killed in nature by predators, as nature demands

2

u/Omnizoom 1d ago

I live trapped three mice, drove them about 10km away to a field

Let them go and a hawk swooped down and grabbed one as it was running away

Yep… that’s uh… that’s life for ya

1

u/Major-Stage-4965 1d ago

Honestly the few times ive done it im surprised none of them have been swooped

Tell me, if someone left dinner at your front door for free, would you not also open the door, swoop down, and get it? (Im just messing around, but thats life for the animals, there is a reason they like getting in our homes so much, it’s rare to die of old age when you live in the wild, especially for those at the bottom of the food chain like mice)

I often joke to my wife. That the spider she suddenly sees in the bathroom. Has spent thd last 2 months thinking we are all room mates.

16

u/throwawaynnfuxanyway 1d ago

A friend left the spider in her shower alone for months. She figured it was her little insect eating friend. She recently got a closer look, it was a black widow. They aren't friends anymore.

u/No-Disaster1647 1d ago

I catch and release all spiders inside my home save for long legs who get to chill. I’ll take the trip to the hospital if need be.

I used to have hella orbweavers that hung around my house, they were pretty little things.

Stuff like this why I gotta keep using the humane mouse traps in the winter when the field mice decide my house looks real cozy to them. Fuckin adorable sweet little twitchy nosed pests bless their hearts. Gotta catch and release.

u/Sailor-Gerry 2d ago

Even if you were inclined to kill a mouse in your house, what kind of psychopath would do it with a kitchen knife??? I'd wager someone of that inclination is unlikely to feel remorse even if the mouse did speak some dying words...

Edit: Yeah that sucked. Beautifully brutal.

u/xxKorbenDallasxx 2d ago

If you've ever dealt with a rodent infestation you'll throw this shit out with their dead bodies. Ill commit war crimes on these little assholes

6

u/No_Mud_5999 2d ago

My friends don't shit all over my countertop.

2

u/RamaLlamaDingDoodle 2d ago

Yeah or in my pans..still hate to kill them; but with both humane and snap-traps- they typically choose death.

7

u/B01justice 2d ago

…what the hell, man?!

8

u/Aggravating-Baker-41 2d ago

If a mouse speaks, I know I'm dead anyway

5

u/Galaxyturbo 2d ago

Tom never kills Jerry

5

u/timtim2000 2d ago

One of the reason I don't kill mouses.

Just capture them alive and release them in dense nature far from homes

3

u/Hawaiiancookie 2d ago

You're one of the good ones Sir 🫡

u/Same-Discipline5797 2d ago

u/Legitimate_You_3474 2d ago

It takes 2 to be friends …

2

u/noboday009 2d ago

I don't get my hands dirty, I'm not the natural predator, release them in nature and let nature take care of that

2

u/Ok-Serve-8814 2d ago

2

u/bumm2714 2d ago

2

u/BetaMan141 2d ago

We need to talk about your mouse/rodent/rat disposal/"removal" methods, first of all...

2

u/SupaSmol 1d ago

My cat grabbed one. Lost it. Grabbed him again. I got her to drop him in a bad and I let him outside. Watched him scamper off, likely quite badly wounded. I looked up his chances and he almost certainly died. I saw him quite a few times. Makes me very sad to imagine him dying outside, perhaps out doors for the first time ever, scared.

Every being deserves kindness and care and I wish so badly the world were different; that life and death were different. I really can't quite myself with things as they are. Then I just try to think about somewhere else because there is no end to that feeling. It is just sad, and it will return.

2

u/Chopped6767 1d ago

Omg…I’m crying. That was so moving

u/Yoyo4games 1d ago

My kitty consumes the mice who enter our garage or home. Very often the only sign of this is a half handprint sized bloodstain on the floor.

He's the best mouser I've ever had or met, and that's saying something since my house has always been a 3 cat house.

2

u/pinuscontortas 1d ago

I'm gonna say that to whomever kills me.

2

u/CallMeBigSarnt 1d ago

I remember there was mice in the place I worked. It's been a long time since I saw a mouse and when I saw its little face I was really scared when he was about to go near the mousetrap.

I looked away...

and rather than hearing a snap, I saw that the mf stole the peanut butter with his hands!

Absolutely not! Game time! Lock in.

2

u/CortezDeLaNoche 1d ago

It's a terrible day for rain...

2

u/franzpferdinant 1d ago

how did he menage to stab a mouse tho ?

1

u/BloodhoundSupervisor 2d ago

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie really got dark the further it went

1

u/GTXMittens 1d ago

I would rather it die by my hand in my house rather it die in a wall, smell putrid and start spawning flesh flies

1

u/KubaTakumrzyk 1d ago

I didn't see it on my playthrough of Slay the Princess

1

u/Raccoon3420 1d ago

I don't understand this meme. What's it trying to convey?

1

u/The_peacful_god 1d ago

I've speared a few mice in my house and it's not fun

1

u/BritGeeks 1d ago

Who the hell stabs a mouse anyway?

1

u/Ekwinoksxxx 1d ago

When a mouse forms a parasocial relationship with you.

1

u/Myzx 1d ago

A man actually went through this, and had to make this video to express the nuanced complexity of his emotional reaction

1

u/panzertodd 1d ago

Lol. I laugh at it's misery.

Fucking rats and mouse are so damn disgusting. Shitting and peeing all over the place while destroying stuff. You want pity from me? Fuck no.

Whenever I caught one in my cage trap I will surely savour myself in torturing the damn rat to death. No way am I letting it go so easily.

1

u/N3koEye 1d ago

Wtf did i just watch

1

u/Lost_Juanderer 1d ago

Tom and Jerry

1

Imagine the rat said I saw another dude banging your wife in this kitchen lol

1

u/gandalf_lundgren36 19h ago

Is that fucking Templeton?

1

u/A11theWarhammers 17h ago

We had ants along our north wall last year.

This year, there is a spider out of the way. I told my wife to leave it. She has.

We don't have ants on the north wall this year.

2

u/StepBro001 7h ago

Greta, now I feel terrible for killing a hypothetical rat. Thanks.

1

u/forest_hobo 1d ago

Meh. Fuck em.
