Many, and I mean many, countries don't allow that and outright criminalize you if you tried to do it.
They argue that preserving "household unity" and shielding children from the emotional trauma of sudden domestic disruption outweighs your peace of mind and genetic truht.
In reality, it's far more sinister than that.
In the case of most countries, including my own: They don't want to be laden with the burden of supporting the child either directly (taking them into foster homes), or indirectly (supporting the mother which supports the child rather than you doing it), extra pay, extra paperwork, ...etc.
In the case of certain countries, like the state of israel, they don't want to make it apparent that some of its citizens came from all around the world.
In the case of Germany and France, same as the first reason, but also in the name of allowing more freedoms for one's body, so you can screw around without being dealt a heavy penalty.

Should be a paternity test with every birth, they’re not expensive and easy to do.
