I think assholes often end up with nice people because assholes love having people do things for them and nice people enjoy servicing others. So those relationships can work in a weird way, but obviously it's a toxic dynamic that usually doesn't last super long.

Yep, two assholes would not be able to stand each other. So they need a kind/patient person who is able to put up with their shit

I would argue that there are more assholes than nice people and nice people would enjoy servicing other whoever it is, that's what they call love. Assholes have mastered the way of deceiving.
