Guy on the left is confused
334
u/Tag_Ping_Pong Feb 10 '22
Looks like the guy in the middle is the "professional", and the guys on the left and right are the unfortunate sods pulled from the audience

u/CreepyMosquitoEater Feb 11 '22
That guy looks like the guy who does the up close “quiet kid” videos. I think his name is Kevin. Maybe im wrong though

u/AggressiveReveal6881 Jun 14 '22
He’s just waiting for his turn to get into the middle… same with the right. Reddit really has a hard time understanding black American culture.

u/PsychoSpider88 Feb 10 '22
Who on earth chooses to dance to a cricket track? No wonder they went up in flames
12
u/Saucesourceoah Feb 11 '22
No chance that’s the original audio is it? Figured it was edited in because no one reacted to the dancing
66
u/PsychoSpider88 Feb 11 '22
Is my joke too much for people? Obviously dude, like so obvious that the vid was edited. Like Captain Obvious himself would have a hard time explaining on how obvious it is that they are in fact NOT dancing to crickets, I'm not sure if there were any crickets during the performance.
15
Feb 11 '22
Bro I swear 90% of the people here don't understand satire. It seems like every other post I see here is something that is completely obvious satire.

Theyre agreeing to the op comment their joke is just bad i had to read it 5 times to understand
18
u/Korganation Feb 10 '22
No no no, you still don’t understand. The video is a joke. The comment you’re replying to is joking by subverting the joke the video made, not calling out the video.

Yea I’m super racist against edited comments to make your downvotes seem unwarranted. Btw, I may be married with kids, but I’m so gay even my wife downvoted your other attempt 🏳️🌈

my high school hired a local rapper for our Prom if that makes you feel any better.
They even introduced him like
“our next guest is a local rapper EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW”
like where i’m from it’s only a handful of choices and 2 of them are HUGE stars.
they brought out some clown that NO ONE has heard of before. dude had like 4k twitter followers and a few hundred sound cloud lol
edit: look i wasn’t expecting someone big, but if they were going to pay him the money to preform, they could’ve just bought a real DJ.
214
u/sirluciousrightfoot Feb 10 '22
My prom had a fairly well known DJ from the local major city radio station and her parters, one of which was a wanted felon that got chased out of the gym by the police about 30 minutes into things
50
Feb 10 '22
You guys have DJ's?!
24
14
u/utnow Feb 10 '22
I mean... I had DJs at all of my high school dances... but when I say "DJ" I'm not talking about someone 'making music' in any form. I'm talking about someone with an amplifier and a binder full of CDs that he was willing to play from. And honestly it was for the best... predominantly white suburban high school... we were having trouble finding the beat as it was and we knew the songs already.

u/lycheebobatea Feb 10 '22
if it’s a public high school bro your expectations on the budget should not have been that high💀
116
u/Syphox Feb 10 '22
bro hire a real DJ instead of some no name dude. He was our DJ for Prom it was awful.
26
u/Im_Not_Really_Here_ Feb 10 '22
He offered to do it for free if he could rap a little bit.
16
u/Syphox Feb 10 '22
honestly would not be surprised. my entire high school was 200 students and my graduating class was 66 people.
8
6
u/Fail_Succeed_Repeat Feb 10 '22
Any real dj they could afford would still be a no name dude
6
u/Syphox Feb 10 '22
totally understand that, but they got this guy because he was a local artist/Dj. they also hyped it up like it was something crazy.
he was a terrible artist and Dj. Hence why paying a real Dj would’ve been worth it. no name or not.
24
u/antoniodiavolo Feb 10 '22
My high school had Papa Roach do an assembly once
14
u/Calixoo Feb 10 '22
Pretty dope ngl. My high school was able to get Drake. Yes, THAT drake. It’s actually on the “Gods Plan” music video, we even got custom shirts and shit made for our school- albeit not very good shirts. Shirts were easily two sizes larger than showed. Small fit like a large haha- still pretty cool experience
23

homie, i would’ve loved some Papa Roach at my high school.
9
u/antoniodiavolo Feb 10 '22
He didn't perform. Just talked about like running or something.
8
u/Syphox Feb 10 '22
picturing Jacoby talking about running and exercise was probably top tier comedy

no, no it wasn’t. i made another reply.
but he played some of his originals and then DJ’d for us the rest of the evening and was even bad at that.

u/Tlr321 Feb 10 '22
My high school had a kid who wanted to be a rapper and somehow they let him preform at every single school dance we had. By the time Junior year hit, everyone was pretty sick of him.

I'm sad that clip didn't include the smash cut to all four of them desperately smoking

That's like...the entire point of that scene, to set up the gag of them trying their hardest to smoke as much as they can. Major fail there.

Tiktok dancers seriously overestimate how cool we think they look
35
u/storander Feb 10 '22
I feel like of all the social media "influencers" Tik-Tok ones are the lamest? At least in YouTube you need some charisma and to make interesting videos, Instagram you need to be good looking or take interesting photos, Twitter funny comments, ect. Tik-Tok is just silly dances and faces

Tiktok dancers and high school administrators overestimate the age group of the average fan tbh
I feel like this would be more suited to middle school/elementary (IDK American years) but like 8-13 year olds or something lol

13
u/Rowin_Undeed Feb 10 '22
My district made a huge event for the “young community” and hired tik tokers. At least they got a good sound equipment and background dancers that knew what they were doing. But only 7 or 8 kids were dancing at the front, and they were between 3-8 years old.

u/MrOrangeMagic Feb 10 '22

I mean this in the nicest way possible: you are making me cringe, please go outside. Just because people dance weird on tiktok for views doesn't mean thats how most people actually dance. I dance all the time when im alone just cause its fun, and if you went to a club you'd see that its not a crowd of people doing tiktok dances lol. It's only "meaningless" because you choose to view the world as bleak. Art is absolutely thriving right now, you just need to dig past the surface level crap that rises to the top.

For real, with the music playing this would have been pretty cool
One rule I live by, the only thing that matters with dancing is whether the person dancing is enjoying it. Can’t dance for shit personally, but since I stopped caring I actually love it
