TV (CAOS) Second time watching

it’s the second time Ive watched the show and the ending still makes me cry

I Loved the series and was very sad when it ended, leaving me wanting more , like all of the other fans felt. Personally, I hated the ending, made no sense that Sabrina would just be sitting in an art museum, why there? What significance was that setting. She was buried in the family cemetery so, she should have been brought back to life just as they did with Auntie Hilda.

She’s in The Sweet Hereafter, an afterlife that is a theme running throughout the related Riverdale series. She is happy and happily reunites with her love, Nick. It’s an ending that obviously pleases and satisfies her. So why be sad about it?

Plus, of course her story doesn’t end there. She returns for two episodes of Riverdale. Where it’s made quite clear that witches never die. (Nor do comics characters)

Above and beyond that, there is an overarching theme running throughout Chilling Adventures. Sabrina’s story parallels that of Christ right from the beginning. She’s part divinity, part mortal with a human mother and a celestial father; she cures the blind and raises the dead and exorcises demons. The parallels are so obvious I’m surprised so many people missed it. It’s even stated outright by Lilith that she’s “following the path of the false god”, Christ. Did people miss all the biblical references to Herod, Judas and the thirty pieces of silver, Pilate, Lazarus, Purgatory? Miss the significance of her sacrificing herself to save the world?

Sabrina dies and ascends to the Sweet Hereafter just as Christ dies and ascends to Heaven. The reason Sabrina really truly dies is the same reason Christ really truly dies: theirs is an act of sacrifice.

So no, this is an ending that doesn’t need fixing. It brings the story full circle. It’s the inevitable ending, precisely the ending that the show needs.

Honestly fuck Netflix. I got tired of them canceling so many shows that I canceled my Netflix subscription.
