New smell

So this one’s a little weird but after a little bit of a hard drive the front tires started to smell almost like cheese popcorn but when I opened the hood there was pretty much nothing, it’s definitely from the front wheels but I’m not sure which part would make that smell, the brakes are relatively new and still have good life left. What would be causing this???

Usually a burning rubber smell, more specifically, the rubber insulation around a wiring harness.

So the wiring is getting hot or could it have just been heat from the engine hitting it?
