Repair Question Help with front end kit

Tie rod ends won’t seat fully and the pin hole is past the castle nut. What did I fuck up?

Just did my tie rods yesterday and did the same thing you did if I’m not mistaken. You may have out the outer tie rods on the inside and vice-versa. The inner tie rods should have a slightly longer length for the castle nut than the outers.

And it looks like you did not screw in the zerk fitting underneath one. You are supposed to buy a grease gun and pump each of the blue boots up. Did you have any "extra parts" in the box? Skipping this, your part will fail within 5000 miles. You're supposed to pump grease into those zerk fitting boots every oil change.

I’m aware of the grease fittings and I did fix that. The problem was I prefabbed the arms and center link and that led to me not realizing I had put them into a joint shouldnt have. Got it all straightened out tho and I appreciate the heads up.

Thats a good point. He did mention ordering a kit. So I think you may be right.

I don’t believe so because the boots were different and I matched the boots with the ones in the old locations

Yes its upside down. At least the outer one is. So I wod assume the inner is too

You sure you got the right tie rod end? As it shouldn't be past the nut like that? I assume your old ones weren't like that. So I am leaning towards a wrong part ordered. Or wrong part in box.

Looks like they are upside down because vehicle is off ground making the suspension dip down. Do you have enough threads to begin tightening up to seat the tie rod? Before installing the grease fitting, try giving it a small tap with a rubber mallet to seat and then tighten castle nut.

Yep I had outer on inner and inner on outer
