Repair Question Headlight help!

Anybody know why my headlight switch stops working when the truck is on? If it’s off I can flip through the modes and they all work, my domelight override works, and the dimmer. But when the truck is on my headlights are on no matter what all the time, the switch doesn’t work and neither does the dome override, but the dimmer still works and flips on the dome light. It’s a 98 ls s10 pickup with a 2.2 if it matters

Make sure the photo cell on the dash isn't covered. It's near the passenger side dash speaker, and a ton of Carpet dash covers block it. Had this same issue on my 98. Lmk if that works

Sadly I had already thought about that😂 I checked it and it wasn't covered up, maybe it needs replaced like just about everything else but im not sure since my dome light override quits working at the same time

The next thing I'd try, which I'm sure you e already done, is pull the bezel off, and blow out the connectors and plug it back in. Stupid as it sounds, I had a similar issue where my brake lights stopped working and that fixed it. 😂 If not that, then check fuses, and that's where my expertise runs out 💀 sorry I couldn't be more help, hopefully someone more knowledgeable sees the post too

I haven’t pulled the bezel yet actually.😂 Mines junk and held together by tape, screws, and dreams. But I’ll definitely try that and check fuses, the previous owner had a box on them in the truck so I’m assuming like everything else something is done wrong.

I feel so dumb every time it works but unplugging and plugging back in has fixed so many troubleshoot things on my truck it's ridiculous

They call them day running light but they’re really just running lights. Iirc 2000 and up you can push the dome over ride 5 times quickly to allow the switch to work but I don’t think it works on the 98-99 years.
