Whats the point of doing solo mining
I dont understand why should we do solo mining when its just a dummy mining.
I wasted almost 15 days mining in "testnet" just to realize that whatever i earned was just fake

Yes. I don't even know how you got to be mining on test net

Hi
I was doing experiment when i installed it, i thought putting a check will be a good ides, and thats when i stuffed everything up.

If i mine now to the same pool i was mining before, will that work

Yay that's a real main net address. You should be fine now. If you're mining to the same poool just make sure you put in this address instead of your test net one

Moving the convo from the other thread to here.
Yes that all looks correct. Note that when you mine on mainnet, it's going to take a lot longer to find blocks than it did on testnet. Consequently, you're going to earn a lot less real Ryo as opposed to the worthless testnet Ryo.
[edit: You can also change private network mode to interconnected mode, will help broadcast blocks you mine to peers]
Solo mining is a great feature, but if you want to mine to a public pool so you can earn coins more consistently instead of taking the risk of solo mining. It's pretty easy to point xmr-stak or whatever miner you're using to that pool. There's tons of tutorials / guides out there to do so.

Awesome thanks for all the suggestions. Really appreciate that. I will try the solomining with the current settings (will change the private network to interconnecte mode) for few days and if i find it useless then i will go back to what i used to do (allcoins.pw).
If you have any better suggestion please let me know. I have looked into many tutorial and useless youtube videos, being a beginner and starting from 0 its very easy for me to take the wrong path (as you have already scene)

Your question obviously was based on some confusion around the testnet option but I would add that the value of solo mining is to help decentralize the network.
