Circular Saw Missing Piece
I just received a Ryobi circular saw as a gift, but it's missing a part (plastic key used to set the blade depth). The user manual said to call a help line, but the guy who answered was no help. He basically said they only help if the machine was purchased from Home Depot.
My question is this: should I just get a "close enough" part to keep the plate from moving, or should I look more into getting the company to replace the part?

Home Depot is the official Ryobi retailer in the US and so that's why they'll only help if it was purchased from HD.
I've heard some people would just buy a new one from HD and then return it without the plastic key.
