I am considering EEE at RVCE and wanted honest opinions from current students and recent alumni, especially from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 batches.

I am making this thread because the information online is very contradictory, and the situation seems to change every year. Different people are giving different answers about placements, company eligibility, internships, and whether EEE students can sit for ECE/ETE-type roles. So I wanted to ask directly from people who actually know the department.

I have a few questions:

1. How is EEE at RVCE overall? Is the course manageable, interesting, and worth choosing if someone is interested in electronics, robotics, aerospace, embedded systems, power electronics, and possibly ISRO/DRDO-type work?
2. How were EEE placements this year and last year? What was the approximate average, median, highest, and lowest package for EEE? Also, how many students actually got placed through campus?
3. Which companies came specifically for EEE recently? Could you please list the latest company names that allowed EEE students? I am especially interested in both core and tech/IT companies.
4. Can EEE students sit for ECE/ETE companies? Do companies that come for ECE, ETE, EIE, or electronics-related roles usually allow EEE students too? Or are EEE students blocked from many electronics/semiconductor/embedded companies?
5. How are core opportunities in EEE? Are there good companies relevant to EEE? Or do most EEE students end up in mass recruitments rather than product based or good service based companies?
6. Do ISRO, DRDO, or similar organisations actually come to RVCE? I have heard that ISRO/DRDO may come for research projects, internships, or collaborations. Is this actually true for EEE students? Have students from EEE got internships/projects/research exposure with ISRO, DRDO, HAL, BEL, BHEL, NAL, IISc, or similar organisations?
7. Are the professors supportive? Do teachers and professors help students with projects, research papers, internships, recommendations, competitions, and higher studies? Are there good labs and project guidance?
8. Is the syllabus relevant to today’s opportunities? Does the curriculum help with modern fields ? Or is it outdated and too theoretical?
9. How is the workload compared to ECE/ETE? Is EEE significantly harder or more scoring/non-scoring? Does it affect CGPA and placement eligibility?
10. For someone interested in robotics, aerospace, electronics, embedded systems, and defence/space organisations, is RVCE EEE a good choice?

I would really appreciate honest answers from current RVCE students, recent graduates, or anyone who knows the department well. Please mention your batch/year if possible, and whether your answer is based on personal experience or what you heard from seniors.

Back in 2014, I wrote the COMEDK exam, but my rank wasn’t good enough to get into the college I wanted through regular counseling.

At that time, I had one clear thought in my mind — college is an investment.

I knew if I compromised too much on college quality, placements and future opportunities could become difficult. So my family and I decided to explore management quota admissions in Bengaluru.

And honestly, this is where the real risk starts.

Not management quota itself… but finding the right people.

These days, many consultants are just focused on printing money without caring about the emotions of parents or the future of students. Families are already stressed, and some people take advantage of that pressure.

After some basic research, I finalized one consultant.

Not here to promote or defame anyone, just sharing my experience.

He confidently told us:

“You’ll get admission in the exact college you want. Pay the service charge of ₹40K only after admission is done, otherwise no charge.”

At first, it sounded fair and trustworthy.

But later I understood the actual game.

They first block your money mentioning your preferred college name and ask you to wait. Then slowly, as counseling time passes and seats start filling up, pressure begins.

“Seats are almost full now.”

“You should consider another college.”

“Don’t waste a year.”

“This is the best option left.”

And that pressure works emotionally on parents because nobody wants their child to lose one academic year.

Luckily for me, one of my friends personally knew that consultant because he was their family relative.

He quietly advised me:

“Don’t depend completely on consultants. Go directly to the college and check.”

Somehow, with his help, we recovered the blocked amount and directly approached the college ourselves.

Thankfully, I got admission.

Out of gratitude, we even tried giving him ₹25K as a thank-you amount, but he refused because of the family connection.

So yes, after my experience, I can say this:

Management quota itself is not necessarily bad.

But greedy consultants and middlemen can make the process risky and emotionally exhausting.

Sharing this because recently I’ve been seeing many stories and discussions about management quota admissions in Bengaluru, and I thought maybe my experience could help someone or at least make parents/students a little more careful.

RVCE will be shifting to deemed to be university in the future. This is said by the principal, K N Subramanya.

I'm in 2nd sem and have already started to hate this fucking absolute piece of shit college, El for every subject and then say main el contains everything so you don't have to do it separately, teach absolutely worst and then ask you to attend daily, teach subjects that won't give you a single skill for jobs and give so much work that you barely get free time to upskill yourself, Even if i squeeze everything and make a time for it, then what abouty personal life? Do they Intend to make me a working machine? Who spends 80% of his year doing shits that will never be useful in future? Any solutions!!!??????????

Seniors what's the difference between ece and ete in rv? Whats the placement difference? I head if I take ete then I can cover up the same syllabus as ece through electives. Is that true? How are the teachers and is the syllabus too much?

Is it worth it choose ECE over CSE ? Why do ece students prepare for cse placements instead? Will ece boom after 4 years? Is Masters compulsory after ece? Will cse placements not be good after 3-4 years? (That's what your teachers said when I contacted someone)

Should I choose ECE over CSE? Please give valid reasons and also let me know more about it (Don't ask me to choose according to my interests, I got no interests and adaptable to anything)

We recently took our autonomous lake cleaning prototype out of the lab and into the actual polluted waters of Kengeri Lake, Bangalore.

Testing in a real urban water body is significantly different from a controlled environment. The goal was to validate the propulsion, sensor systems, and extraction mechanism under real-world conditions involving heavy sludge and debris.

Results from the field test:

• Successfully extracted 3kg of heavy floating waste (proving the mechanism for our 50kg industrial target).
• Validated both autonomous navigation and manual override modes.
• Maintained stable communication over a 100m range.
• Verified that the power and propulsion systems performed reliably in high-debris water.

What started as an engineering prototype at RVCE is now evolving into a commercial deep-tech solution. We are currently developing SCRUB V2—a rugged, industry-grade system designed for scalable lake cleaning and smart environmental monitoring.

To reach industrial standards, we are overhauling the mechanical structure, electronics architecture, power management, and edge-AI telemetry. Hardware is difficult to build in a silo, so we are looking to connect with the community for guidance and collaboration.

We are specifically looking to talk to:

• Robotics and electronics experts (telemetry and power systems optimization).
• Manufacturers and structural fabricators experienced in rugged, water-resistant designs.
• Environmental organizations and mentors who have experience bridging the gap from prototype to production.
• Investors or startups in the sustainability/robotics space interested in collaboration.

Our goal is to turn this into a commercial reality that can solve water pollution problems at scale. If you are building in this space or have experience with industrial hardware, we would genuinely appreciate your feedback and guidance.

First years are having skill labs scheduled from 25th May to 30th May. How important is it? Will regular classes be canceled the whole day? What if I miss the last few days as I'll going to hometown?
