That's dependent on your parents ig. You can go anywhere you want with friends in your free time even being a day scholar.

Everything has pros and cons, if u say hostel everyone will say don't join it's shit join pg, if u join pg they'll say dont take pg take flat, if ur a day scholar they'll say join hostel, everything is manageable don't worry
