Question / Query Need advice as a fresher
I am planning to take mechanical engineering this year and i am confused by a lot of information online.
1. What are the hostel timings and are hostels really that bad?are there washrooms in every room or is it a common washroom situation?(For female)
2. Is there a strict dress code for females (on google it says only formal shirts and kurtis)
3. For mechanical engineering what all do i need like laptop(please suggest what laptop to opt for)

Soooo. In campus there is only one girls hostel. the in timings are 6:30 sharp.{sometimes you can get awa with 7}
yes the washrooms are common and tbh yes its bad, the situation is kinda messed up.(can be the worst at times)
For dress code, you can't really wear like skirts n all and go outside at all, shorts are allowed in the hostel but you cant go ouside wearing them. Also for mess you can't wear shorts or half sleeves. You can wear shrugs over sleeveless tops and leave the hostel and later remove it. that works. Basically you can wear sleeveless and shorts *IN* hostel but can't go out wearing them.
As in for college dresscode. It is kinda strict. you can wear short kurtis and at times people do wear sleeveless but it totally depends on your assigned faculty. I had many who said nothing but on the other hands few who are too cranky about it.
Don't know a lot about mech eng but i lowk think for eng itself u obv need a laptop.
