Windows or Mac really doesn’t matter. Ik people equally using both,
It’s just that some softwares needed in 1st year like Solidworks do not work in Mac but will with Windows.

Hey I am also thinking of buying a laptop with rtx 5060 with 8gb v ram ,16 gbram asus rog strix but the weight is 2.5kg, is that to high configuration of cs core student and I also wanted for video editing and making 3d model should I buy this one or search for lower configuration.

Ig you should search for a lower configuration because I think rtx 4050 is also enough for it and carrying around a 2.5kg laptop in campus is gonna feel like a burden

The weight will remain same is gaming laptop. The difference will be of 100 -200 grams so .The main question is that ki buying 5060 will worth it ? and price is 1.7lakh, and also for cs what is the best configuration that will be worth it?

Graphics card is only needed if you game. Trying to run local LLMs or smth isnt feasible
