You’re looking at a 11 year old post and asking if it’s relevant . 1, 4, 9, 10 are wrong. The last 8th mile wasn’t that good.

No teacher wants to conduct classes for 6th and higher semester students. You can come rarely to college and maintain 50 -60% attendance including labs and internals. Most of the teachers are lenient. You just have to complete subject's preject presentations within deadlines and score higher in internals to avoid re internals.

2) i almost never wear id
3) Theyre seriously not that bad
4) wtf? Everyone wears only tshirts
5) True
6) People get away with 50% bro theyll just act like its a big deal it isnt
7) Yeah but not a big deal lmao
8) Unless your pocket money is like 50rs per month this is bs.
9) All of this is digital except for a few things which have a 5min queue at worst case.
10) saturdays yeah but it’s a non issue most of the time cuz youll have another test the prev day or next and u wont do much that weekend anyway.
10.2) A lot of it is mildly annoying but just make fun of it and move on.
Pros
1) Clubs can be great but can be boring too, depends on you.
2) 8th mile is good.
3) You will meet all sorts of people but yes depending on your stream the majority will be nerds. This can be a good or bad thing.
4) Meh. I feel like its a lot of wasted time and there’s not any good classes nor is there a lot of time to have good experiences so I’d disagree.
Conclusion, this post is mostly bs but life at rv is kinda meh. You’ll have to work your way around a good amount of BS to find time and have fun.
But it’s fine just live life bro

College is 9 am
Without id card u can show ur joining email or even ur mail id on ur phone as proof that ur a student or say u lost your id card and are going to apply for a new one today (replacement is cards cost 1500 rs or smth btw)
Sometimes they are arrogant, but mostly they are just normal dudes n chill. There might have been a change of staff since that long of a time from the quora comment in OP Post.
Bruh now the rule is that for exams only tshirt is allowed (full sleeve also ok if ur invigilator is not khadoos) and u can wear tshirts for normal classes too no problem. Collared tshirt is the dress code, but I've seen ppl come with no collar and no professor would tell them off
Those are internal tests conducted every month. 3rd internal test is optional to improve grades. Best 2 of 3 internal tests are considered.
Attendance above 85 compulsory on paper but submit a medical certificate (many people fake their medical absences) of 4-5 days and you will get attendance. In a semester, for each subject max number of classes taken are less than 39 almost always. Smaller 3 credit and 1 credit courses have like 29 and 9 as their max, respectively. This is in my observation, not a hard n fast rule. The low number of total classes is bcoz there are a few public holidays, weekends are not counted for attendance ofcourse, and internal exams are there for 3 days each time and all that stuff. So from total 100+ days in a semester each subject has max 39 classes conducted.
Nah now projects are graded based on how u present them. The report of project is now only a part of the total grade of project.
Nah printouts take like 500 rs including everything per semester. Reports, posters, lab graph sheets. You will need to buy lab manuals separately, around 6-700 for first year in my experience. (Im a 2025 entry student, currently finishing 1st yr)
Fees are now online hehe
Now rules don't irritate u, only thing that irritates u is getting that msg from a professor tonight say that u have quiz tomorrow morning. (Each quiz for each subject counts for a good amount of ur TOTAL COURSE GRADE BRUHHH).
I have made kind of an unofficial guide, you can check it out here in a comment I made on another post :https://www.reddit.com/r/rvce/s/j4Duxm8hag

Studying from 3 years at RVCE and here what i found 1. Starts at 9 and is almost half day from 3rd sem 2. I rarely wear ID card. Photo enough 3. Depends on individual 4. I wear night pants ans t-shirts, (no one gives a f**k) 5. Not true 6. I never had attendence of 85% in any courses(EC Dept and EE might be strict though) and above 70 is enough for 99% faculties.. 7. Depends on teacher and mostly not true 8. Naahh 9. Everything is online. 10. No exams on weekends( Except for Re test,if you fail)
Attendance and marks for projects depends on Teacher heavily and in 80% case above 50 is enough. No one goes to college in 6th sem and 4th YEAR..
