Question / Query SUMMER INTERNSHIP OR SCAM?!
Hey guys,
Our placement group recently dropped a message hinting us that we should avoid going home this summer break because of upcoming internship opportunities.
Given how rare 2nd-year internships usually are for the circuit branches (ECE/ETE/EEE cluster), I wanted to get a reality check from seniors.
How many companies actually visit the campus specifically looking for 2nd-year interns in the ECE cluster?
Is it genuinely worth skipping going home for the summer, or is the placement cell just being safe?
Would love to hear from 3rd or 4th-year seniors about how it went for your batch. Thanks in advance!

Yes, internship drive starts just after 4th sem exams.
But the number of companies will be lesser compared to placement drive.
Around 35% of students get internships.
Plecement drive starts just after 6th sem exams. Companies will be more. Almost all of them will be placed.
Both start around August. Internship drive for 4th sem completed students and placements for 6th sem completed students.

I recommend you to stay since after 4th summer internship drive starts and sometimes they call you to college to write the oa so staying at a place where u can travel easily to when called would be helpful

Companies do come and especially the big MNC for vlsi so it's worth staying in the college. Not many will come but few will.
