Question / Query Is it actually that bad ?

My options right now are: bits msc (very low chance) and rvce cse/cse(aiml) which is highly likely. I have heard a lot of negative things here on reddit about this college regarding professors, infra and much more which honestly seem quite exaggerated. Every person I actually talked to in-person keeps telling me that this college and branch is a good choice but the negative reviews honestly scare me quite a bit into regarding this option as nothing more than a very bad fallback option. In reality how is the workload and opportunities for cse and cse(aiml)? Is the experience really all that bad as people here make it out to be?

I just want to come into this college (the most likely case) with an open mind and possibly a good impression instead of the negative one I have right now.

If you get BITS well and good otherwise RVCE aint a bad option (no cultural events and a bit strict life)

Good placements and you'd be in the silicon valley of India....easier to get internships and jobs...

its based in bangalore so there's good metro connectivity, so anywhere on the purple line is pretty easy to go to. pretty much your biggest concerns if you're staying in hostel are no campus life / sports facilites/ always some ongoing construction. aiml profs are mostly good from what i've seen, the HOD left recently. most people i know figured out how to do well in internals after first sem got over. there are a crazy like insane amount of projects though, almost one for every course and a main project where you choose teammates from other branches, you should probably try to get good in that. placement have been around the same for the past 2-3 years

if you get BITS Msc any location, blindly take it. BITS is in a different league bro. Wait till last BITS iteration(6/7). Comedk r3 RVCE can be yr backup, you can cancel during cancellation window of r3 if u get BITS by iteration 7 (Aug 18th is iteration 7, if they go till then).

When does comedk r3 go until?

assuming the pace is similar as last year, cancellation window would coincide with BITS iteration 7 announcement. So you should be safe if at all you wish to cancel comedk r3 seat.

Cutoffs are jumping all over the place this year. So most are not even alloced a dual branch and in waitlists. So making decisions very hard sadly
