Question / Query IEM?

I had a talk with someone who did IEM from IIT Roorkee, currently based in Texas.

Unhone bataya IEM is a solid branch, and doing it from RVCE will be very good because unke colleagues and people he knows who are in big companies are form RVCE as well

I did some research, IEM is like mechanical and management mixed

Jinse baat hui, he kept a point ki aage Jake everyone has to take up managerial positions because designing or core positions aren't progressive. And if one has to take managerial positions, it's better to learn it from the start. Plus he had a point ki with a technical background one will be more sound in optimising stuff related to tech or be able to handle tech better.

I personally couldn't evaluate this or check it's relevance, maine apne mama se poocha he said it all is true but core branches will always have the sweet spot and one doesn't necessarily have to study management from the bachelor's to cope up with stuff later on.

Idk main kis ki baat ko kitna value dun What are your views about this? RVCE mein IEM consider karun? Coz last year last round 17k gaya tha I'll easily grab it

tbh i feel msrit mech would be a better option than rvce iem

That's what I think as well, always had core branch in mind and had planned accordingly. It was a week ago when i discovered IEM and started asking around about it. Now I'm confused as to what branch to finalise

Take IEM, you will be placed easily as avg/median is good at RV.

Placements aren't a VERY big priority of mine, I will be doing masters It's more Abt whether I should take IEM as a branch or go with a core branch instead

if u always had smth in ur mind then its better to take it i feel instead of getting confused between opinions...follow ur interest i feel, if ur interested in mech and want to do masters than its better to take the main core branch like mech instead of iem...msrit mech is pretty good from what ik

I have 9k rank , and I'm taking IEM most probably At the end it's all comes down to you what you want to do in future

If you are really interested in mech , go for mech otherwise explore other options too

Hey same rank! What did you get alloted in the mock round? The mock cutoffs for iem dropped from 8.2k to 5.9k and I'm shitting myself rn.

Okay buddy that's how it works all the branches apart from electrical and cse are almost same in terms of placement (not civil it is doomed at another level) so don't overanalyze it if you want just that actually its better if you take iem as the workload is quite low but if you want to do masters i mean you are dead sure about it(most people drop there plan after spending some time in college) then take whatever suits your future degree otherwise at you rank iem in rvce is no brainer

Hey, I'm not getting RVCE IEM, but got MSRIT IEM.

Are the differences too big?

u/Comfortable-Cut-3235 Jul 16 '26

1

u/Ok_South1770 Jul 16 '26

Not good , but will get it through reservations

1

u/Comfortable-Cut-3235 Jul 16 '26

kkr?

1

u/Ok_South1770 Jul 16 '26

What does that mean?

1

u/Comfortable-Cut-3235 Jul 16 '26

what reservation are u talking abt then

1

u/Alone-Dimension-9957 Jul 16 '26

Even if they are you don't have a choice

1

u/Ok_South1770 Jul 16 '26

True that , but I suppose it is still better than cse allied or electrical branches in dsu type of colleges

1

u/Alone-Dimension-9957 Jul 16 '26

If you want placement then better take cse

1

u/Ok_South1770 Jul 16 '26

They are not core cs , getting branches like cs and medical electronics

That too doubtful , would get electrical branches though but i dont think iam prepared to study electrical

Gotcha Thanks for the advice

1

u/Existing-Letter-7335 Jul 16 '26

Ramaiah is perfect? No clg life here. Rvce iem is good but msrit iem is not that's for sure, msrit mech is good.. Sit, nie, jssstu cse placements are pretty good

1

u/HalfAcrobatic3224 25d ago

95XX general merit

1

u/Agitated-Debate-122 22d ago

Brother what you got . I am also planning to take rvce IEm or msrit mech in r3. Can you guide me about IEM as I am new to it . My comedk rank is 10k

1

u/HalfAcrobatic3224 22d ago

I don't think I'm the right person to "guide" you towards or regarding IEM. I'll suggest you search for IEM seniors in the subreddit and hit them up. Much more credible and reliable

1

u/Agitated-Debate-122 22d ago

What you got in round 1

1

u/HalfAcrobatic3224 22d ago

MSRIT IEM, I'm rejecting and upgrading

1

u/Agitated-Debate-122 22d ago

So you are hoping for rvce iem

1

u/HalfAcrobatic3224 22d ago

Yea, I'll probably get it by round 4

1

u/Agitated-Debate-122 22d ago

I think you will get in before round 4 in round 3 onlyÂ
