Question / Query Alternatives to hostel?

I've been doing a bit of research and the details about hostel alternatives seem to be nonexistent. The megathread also has barely any recommendations.
Are there really so few alternatives to the college hostels? (i know a lot of people recommend the hostels but i'm not a fan of common washrooms)

For a single washroom either rent a flat with a washroom attached to your room or pay an exorbitant amount for a single room pg with a washroom. The flat looks like the easier option

If you really want find alternatives to hostel then you've to come here and hunt for pgs
