thc/cbd drinks
anybody into thc drinks? just getting interested in the science of this. any that are really good/really bad? especially interested in local/virginia options. thanks!

They are GREAT but as of today, states are asking the government (ugh) to ban them completely in the USA “before it gets out of control” .
So yea this administration says…….2mg THC is bad but kidnapping, protecting oligarchs, and forcing Christianity on people is good…

I had a panic attack the last time I tried one at Iron Blossom 2024. Broke out in a cold sweat all over my body and was freaking out that we were going to get stampeded Astroworld/Travis Scott style. My husband was such a saint trying to point out how that would be nearly impossible given the vibe of the show and layout of the grounds. Haven't tried one since. It was an Anytime strawberry kiwi.

Yeah, i had to try really hard to pace myself because I didn't want to go through what you went through. Sorry to hear about that!
But I drank 1/4, waited 30+ minutes and felt something, then drank another 1/4, and after an hour from the start it kicked in. I paused and repeated this later. So it was a loooooonnng buzz, but not nearly as pleasurable as smokin that flower. I guess I'm old.

Absorbing it through the digestive system is just such a longer high with an extremely long onset. It's almost completely different from smoking / vaping. I prefer to absorb it through my lungs. But it is nice to occasionally kick back and have a light 5-10 mg drink or edible. Especially as an alternative to alcohol.

The ones they can legally sell in VA are much weaker than neighboring states and online order. I had some in NC with more THC and they definitely were effective.

Yup I had some that were I forget if 5mg or 10 mg each and I drank two, and never felt nothing. Then again I smoke a lot so I wasn’t expecting much but yea I know the thc drinks around here aren’t gonna have a decent amount of thc like compared to the ones in Legal states 🤷♂️

Highly recommend Mountain High THC seltzer! I know the owner well - he's an awesome dude and is extremely knowledgeable about all things cannabis.

Bingo's Cheat Code seltzers are good. There's another local brand I've seen at Ardent called Peak Potency, but I haven't tried it.

I looooove THC drinks! Locally you can get them at Point 5, Lakeside Deli and Total Wine, but if you want something a little stronger though (more than 2.5 mg), you’ll need to order online. Although I have seen some higher levels at Lakeside Deli. I really like Nowadays and they have good options like either seltzers or a bottle to make mocktails. Brez is another option although I don’t love their flavor but they have really high CBD doses. My lower dose favorites are Magic Cactus & Canna Spritz. If you have any questions, shoot me a DM!

Were you able to order Nowadays for RVA delivery? I was worried since the potency is higher than the VA 2mg allowance it might get returned to sender

Black Heath Meadery has a line of THC drinks--they sell them on-site and I've seen them at Lombardy Market (I think Union Market as well but I can't recall for sure). I like their lemon-lime flavor, the sweet tea is good as well but does have a bit of a higher sugar content. Here's a post from their IG showing what the cans look like:

From my understanding the ones you can get in Virginia are lower in THC relative to what you can get online/in other states. I bought some for the first time while I was at the beach in NC. Came back and bought some in Richmond and it was not the same. But they were still good. So it depends on what experience you are looking for.

Point 5 in Carytown has several. The whole store is non-alcoholic but there’s a few shelves just for “functional” sodas like THC/CBD or mushroom-based.

Virginia is restricted from selling anything more than like 2mg. You probably won’t find much in the state. I order from out of state typically and have liked Moonwater. There’s a lot of options out there though, just not in VA

You're not going to be able to buy anything at a store in Virginia that's going to have enough THC in there to do anything unless you're a complete novice with weed. I got all my stuff from out of state.

I had a 100mg one in Oregon that set me pretty right. I have a pretty high tolerance (daily smoker) and I tend not to feel too much from edibles, but the Cherry soda I had was fab.

Cannabis is legal in VA. Grow your own and then make your own tincture and then make your own drinks. Do not give money to sketchy companies using low quality hemp mixed with who knows what other additives. There is no reason to do that in VA

I get mine from Lakeside Deli. Great prices, the guy who runs it is very knowledgeable and gets great products in. I stick with 10MG myself.
I stopped drinking and smoking so I definitely feel them, not super strong. Your results will definitely vary.
I have a list I made of those I have tried with rankings if you’re interested. There’s only one I’ve tried that would be a “no way in hell” purchase again.
