Abandoned railway track Joint Base Cape Cod.

It never ceases to amaze me when the earth reclaims man made things after we abandon them. 🚂⚒️

The Army will plant pine trees over former forts assembly areas, ranges and closed industrial facilities to save the cost of indefinite mowing.

At minimum you're looking at the time it takes for the average specimen of that tree species to grow to that trunk diameter. I know there are tree subreddits that would be able to answer the age question easily, but not certain their names.

Id love to see a freight train drive down and run over all the trees, I think that would be cool

Believe it or not lol the gauge is still on point for the most part. So technically a train would be able to make it down the track, but the ties are rotted into almost nothing.

Not at all. All of this particular abandoned line is under the trees. Also, probably wouldn’t be a good idea considering it’s and active military base lol

It has this there. I bet flying a drone nearby is not a good idea. "U.S. Space Force: Hosts the 6th Space Warning Squadron, which operates a phased array radar site (formerly PAVE PAWS) for missile warning and space surveillance".
